Reliability ? The GS is far from that . They are a great tourer no doubt but as a enduro they are not .
Truth is all these bikes are great and all will do the job your after some just better in different areas .
Are you just sticking to the tar or do you intend venture off road as well ?

off road maybe 3% of the time or when absolutely necessary. all the land here is privately held and my family's property is 3 hrs away and I have no time to use it.

I don't want a heavy bike. I don't want a big bike (touring/sport touring types). I'm 33 not 55!

I like the adventure riding position.

the ktm is not on their USA website menu, only if you google it....?

ah I see it will be introduced here in the fall....might be too long.

ah I see it will be introduced here in the fall....might be too long.

In that case get the Multi sounds like it will be more suited to what your after .
Have a look at the Aprilia as well .
 
have owned multiple GS1200s, Multistradas (water/air), and a Stelvio....and agree with Wilkson. given your wants/needs, get the Multi.
