I know the 2012's are still a bit delayed but has anyone heard any news about when the 2013 Panigales will start to roll out? Half of 2012 is already gone folks. I am guessing that there will hopefully be more color options next year.

I am still deployed in the Middle East for a few more months so, I am debating whether to just pick up a 2012 from the dealer when I get back or wait it out for the 2013 model.

I would wait it out. By the looks of it Ducati still has some issues to solve or improve and hopefully they will have done so by 2K13.

Good luck over there!

It's easy for me to say as I already have my Pani :D but with more than half the year gone, I would wait for the 2013 model as well. There are bound to be improvements for the WSBK monster.

with all due respect, I WOULD BE SO PISSED OFF if they drastically change it all of a sudden making the best bike ever I would burn mine... Hopefully the fixes they come out with can be applied to the earlier models.

With such a sort time span I can't see any drastic changes happening. But I can see more color choices, maybe some tweaks to the suspension and fuel mapping. It would be nice if they could do something about that rear exhaust header but I doubt it lol. ;)

I don't see any news on the 2013s for several months. They are still filling orders on the 2012s and they don't want people stalling to wait on next year's model.

Did the second year BMW S1000RR address some/many of the first year problems?

But it ain't gonna be cheap fellas....

BMW's '10 and '11 are the same....then '12 came and made minor refinements to electronics, wider bars, fixed the flawed front-end geo/forks. A large recall came along with it too.

But the '12 BMW was a step forward and turned a great bike into an awesome bike. Didn't it get more mid range as well? I don't see "real" changes in the 1199 until 2014 (like manual starter handles for all condition, flawless starting and insulated seats!!)

But BMW failed to fix the really big issue, the odd looking front end.

I was on the BMW website and now, all of their bikes come standard with ABS and some of their models have LED lighting as well. Their cars are huge on safety and they have carried that on to their motorcycles. Hopefully Ducati does this for the 1199 instead of getting trying to make that extra buck to add it on.

No love for the lazy eye? lol

I know what you mean lol, but after a while you just get used to it specially when most people only see the back of the bike as you go past them... or do what I used to do, look at it from the side.....seriously thou the Beemer is a great handling bike and just goes ballistic once you hit the 9K rpm mark.
I demo the 2012 and personally felt that it was still too close to my 2011 to warrant purchasing it and decided to give the 1199 a try and even thou they are different animals I'm very happy with my decision.
We are very lucky to have at our reach such great motorcycles and allot of times it comes down to personal preference or brand loyalty, you really can't go wrong with any of them

I think the only difference between the '12 ans '13 models are going to be colors, Ducati will probably offer it in Black as well as the Red, or maybe White like they did with the 1198. I really dont think they will change anything mechanically, they need to make some of the massive R&D money they put into this bike back first!

I really like this color combo and the side profile view. Too bad the front doesn't look as nice :(

AGREED, Nice bike!!

I agree it is a nice bike but unless you see the front of it first, it can be easily mistaken for a Gixxer or a Honda. You know a Ducati when you see one.
