2013 Panigale News?

Hi all,

I picked up my Panigale S on the 1st Sept and it's apparently the 2013 model according to the dealer! The Only difference that I have noticed is an additional 'cut out' on the right hand fairing which I can only assume is to make the oil level glass sight more accessable.

What does it say on the title? This would take out the guess work!

I'm thinking the 2013 will have "Skyhook" suspension. Like on the HP4 and the new 2013 Multistrada. What do you guys think? Maybe that's the alluded to SP model in the EPA document??

I have done some reading on Skyhook in general. Sounds like a maintenence nightmare when things go wrong, very expensive if out of warranty. A true "active" suspension though.

Wait..

There are still a few bugs to work out of the 2012 and getting the 2013 should insure that you bypass some if not all of those bugs also have an option of a different color.

I'm betting the '13 will be about the same, but '14 is when we see major improvements/fixes. Guess time will tell...

I agree it is a nice bike but unless you see the front of it first, it can be easily mistaken for a Gixxer or a Honda. You know a Ducati when you see one.

And hear one....

Also, I hear the 2013 will have Sharks with friggin laser beam on their heads. I'm holding out.

Since Iam a South African and we are pretty dumb would you explain tome what do you mean with "title"?

Here we call it the MSO, Manufacturer State Of Origin, the paper work you take to the licensing office to title your bike. It says the specific model. Btw, St Louis is in the United States, a big country across the big lake from you ;)

My Dealer took those papers on my behalf to the Licensing Offices, so unfortunately I would not know, but I visit them regularly (Ducati Sandton) as we are now family so I will ask for a copy.

We call that big lake the English Dam as it has no walls. St. Louis has a great name, so it must be a wonderful place. :D

I think I get it now...it's called a log book over here in Blighty and it indicates the model...I will look at mine this evening and report back.

English...the same language but different!! Oh and we call it the Pond!

A title is a title deed which is an official legal document that proves proof of ownership of property. Usually it contains the "official" description of the property. I think you can also determine the model year by the VIN.

skyhook looks and will be a awesome kit
i dont know what it takes to maintain it and hopes sumone can explain of what im looking at.

but do people expect the panigale to have skyhook in near future?
