I hate insurance companies as much as the next guy, but make sure you check the PDS's for these policies. All Comprehensive insurance is not equal. Saving a couple of hundred dollars on the premium may not be such a good thing if when you need to claim they wont pay out because the situation didnt meet one of their conditions....

Picked the duke up today

Nice R mate, have you ridden a 13/14R and/or 1299 before? Any comments on how the 15R compares?

Did you pick your S up yet Lightning?

No, haven't picked it up yet and I don't think I'll get a chance till at least Thursday. Planning to take a few days off work the following week to get some kms . . .

I saw a missed call from 08 on Friday, but it looked like a company number so I didn't call back. Was that you buttnekid?

sorry mate this is my first panigale I've only ridden a demo pani s

Ok cool mate, so you rode the 1299S? Once you pick up your R, pls let us know what you think of the R motor as a streetable option compared to the demo 1299s you rode please bro

Congrats again mate

Sorry for the late reply work...

Have had a chance to put some kms on the bike, the R on the street is awesome. There are no issues with the motor, the motor has heaps of torque.

The average joe wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the torque on the S and the R.

What exactly does the R come with here in Aus?
I'm going in Monday to order mine and just want to know what extra things I'll need.

Carbon clutch cover? Tinted/taller racing screen? Mirror blanking plates?
And hats your opinion on the akra that comes with the bike?

Hey mate

No carbon clutch cover it only comes with factory fitted screen which I think it's the taller one, it does come with mirror blanks. The Akra is loud, the baffle in the system cannot be removed so the Ducati tech said it's only 60mm unlike the 70mm full race system, seems to be awesome at this stage still running it in.
oh it does have a different note to the old 14R.

Thanks man appreciate it.

So it doesn't come with anything. Lol. Sure I won't care when I'm riding it but when the new bike excitement wears off if the baffles cant be removed from the mufflers, then they will have to go.
After hearing a Superleggera the other day in Healesville I can't wait to hear it before the redline.

Hey, so I'm curious, is the suspension on the R better than what you get on the S seeing that it's all electronic and I believe has integration with the GPS module ?

Matter of opinion.

I think the regular mechanical ohlins are better because they are lighter and have a better range of adjustment over the electronic suspension. But I haven't ridden the S and felt the new event based setup they have. I've ridden with semi active suspension on many bike from different brands and to be honest I don't like it very much because it isn't consistent. But that's just my opinion everyone feels about it differently.

On another note deposit down on my new R today! But I have to wait until August. We are only getting 25 for the whole country this year. Not easy to get my hands on one. Oh well, plenty of time to save up for kids I guess.
