So I need a new set of tyres and they've moved on a little since I last needed a new set but I have always preferred Pirellis and plan on sticking with them.

However, I was curious, after reading a thread on here that says the 1299/R wheels are the same size as the new V4 would I be able to stick the 200/60 section rear tyre on without issue?

A larger contact patch at lean and more grip sounds appealing but am I barking up the wrong tree here and no benefits to be gained?

Flame suit on.......

On stock rims, the 200/55 vs 60 profile is irrelevant concerning width. The only difference being more slope to contact patch at a full lean and turn in is more aggressive. Most guys run their 200/65 slicks on the same rims so don't be concerned.

no need to be concern. Only "minor" thing supposedly, is that if you have your suspension set, you might need to adjust little bit. Some say it felt awkward and some decided to go back to 55 but plenty go with 60 on track.

what type of riding are you doing as there are very few bad tires these days.

Mostly road, and a fair bit of track hopefully this year. It was just something that stuck in my head after hearing some conversations about the V4 tyres, grip and how good they felt.

I'm keeping the R for the foreseeable so I figured I might treat it, possibly see what slip ons and a re-flash might do too, help her breathe a bit better.
