Good Evening, I am new to the group and l've been looking at a new V2, but came a crossed a 2019 959 with 3k miles for 12k and really trying to justify 4k plus fees on the V2.
Is the V2 really worth the extra cost?

Biggest 2 items for a general rider is the TFT screen on the new bikes is very modern compared to the 959 dash. Other than that it’s all abt the looks. The 959 look is timeless in my opinion but I’d be trying to get it down to $10k unless it has the full Akra exhaust, but I’d be looking for a lightly used 1299S for less $ than a V2.. actually that’s what I did do

You can have a read...

And the TFT is not the biggest change...there's a lot more important stuffs...

Either looks or performance...personally I prefer the V2...

This guy has no idea what he is talking about, he feels the need to comment on every single post on here. Its not all about the looks and the dash - the biggest upgrade is the electronics

But is it worth the 4k. I'd like to track this bike as i feel the R6 is to cramped for me. This wouldnt a rider, but track used as well.

100% worth the $4K, the electronic upgrades alone will have you running laps confidently and feeling like Rossi.

Did you test ride the 959 and V2? V2 is better in every way!!!

I felt like the side panel on the V2 kept hitting my knew. I didnt notice it on the 2019. I assume with an adjustable rear set, that it would go away on the V2

Can’t speak to that but sounds like a small concern. Go get the V2 and forget about the 959.

I have a fully built 959 track / race bike I will be upgrading to V2 after this season

At a 4k difference I’d probably go with the V2. Anymore that that and the 959 becomes more attractive.

If you are a A group rider I doubt the V2 will improve your lap times. So it does come down to what looks better to you.

And as someone said, a 1299S should be in play if you really want a V2.

I am a noob to the track, and still learning. The V2 really interests me because of it electronic and being able to help me learn, but becoming dependent on rider aide has its down side too.

No track experience here. Maybe one day. For now open roads rides in SoCal.

If it was me I would be looking for a preloved 959 corse and with maybe some tasty add ons that you almost get for free. Classic limited addition model that was an evolution of the species with ohlins, lithium battery and beautiful graphics.
I've had 4 Panigale models and the 959 is a beautiful road sportbike.

No it does not. The better you get the smoother you get the less you will need Rider aids. You get to the point of no intervention, you lower the threshold. Don’t be afraid of rider aids. There’s a bunch of people on this site that could easily take MM spot at Honda, but it would bore them so they tell everyone here that riders aids are for chumps.

Buy the bike YOU like the best and gives you the most confidence.

Have Fun!!!

Thank you, I really appreciate your advise.

Currently trading in my D675 for a V2. Dealer said inventory is low and the majority of dealers that run out won’t get anymore V2’s anytime soon- approx. next year sometime.

I purchased my V2 this month. The dealer said it was their last allotment for the year.
