Hello guys, I bought a used Monster 821(2020) today and this is my first Ducati. It's only at 5500 miles.
However, I noticed a more significant rattling/tapping sound around 2500-3000rpm range, I mean like different from other rpms.
The sound definitely decreases/disappears almost completely when the rpm drops, and it seems to decrease when you past 3-3.5k rpm too, but I'm not 100% sure because the exhaust sound increases as the rpm increases, so it's hard to hear exactly. But yeah most probably it decreases.
I hear the same noise when going downhill at low speed, this time there doesn't seem to be a rev range, but at low speed.
When I pull the clutch or when the gear is in neutral, there is no same noise at any rpm.
There doesn't seem to be any performance loss in the engine (I mean I don't know what the full performance is because this is the first time I've used it properly, but it goes like crazy).
Sidenote: When I went to test the bike at the dealer 3 days ago, I don't think I noticed this sound or even think that this sound doesn't exist. Before I bought the bike today, the tires were changed to brand new tires(pirelli diablo rosso 3) because the tires were worn out. I don't know if it will help, but maybe this information will be useful.
The sound is very similar to the sound in these videos:
I hope I have given you enough information.
Thank you in advance to everyone who takes the time to read and try to help.
