Im between both of these right now, im leaning more towards to the V4s because of Wet clutch, but I was wondering if we could update the electronics on the V4S to EVO 3, that the V4 SP is going to come with.

I would do the SP you cant add the extras for the money. The dry clutch under normal riding conditions should last. When I had older Duc's that came with the dry clutch it was nice have the oil stay clean much longer.

Only extras you can't add for the money are the numbered triple and maybe the aluminum tank. Everything else you can swap out/add to a base model and easily stay under MSRP for the SP.

Believe it or not this is not as true as you think it is. Going retail for retail you only save about $1100 from piecing it together and there is no equivalent for the stylema R caliper. To be honest the SP is a real good deal for $37K

What is the difference between the Stylema and Stylema R caliper? I somewhat doubt it is that substantial of a difference. Can absolutely cut a chunk of the cost by not throwing the DP catalogue at it, which are all overpriced accessories due to Ducati tax.

Ultimately, if someone wants literally every aspect of the SP, then sure, buying a SP is the best choice. But you can absolutely save a ton of money by picking and choosing the aspects that matter to you. If you're a performance nut and those Stylema R calipers are life and death, you can get a V4S and throw them on there for quite a bit less.

If a pig had wings it could fly, but a straight comparison came out to $1100. No kidding if you piece what you want it would be cheaper. You don't have to have BST wheels and that drops the price dramatically. No kidding OEM accessories are more expensive than the aftermarket stuff out there but now we are talking apples to oranges which is a stupid argument to make because than everything we are talking about is irrelevant.

Presumably, you can sell the parts you remove too?

True.

I've said in a different thread I believe, that the SP is a good buy if it checks all the boxes. There's no doubt it costs more than the sum of its parts, but there is still no issue with that as you can chalk the excess cost as a convenience fee. You can absolutely buy a base model V4, all the SP parts, swap it all out yourself, and sell the removed base parts, spending thousands less than if you just bought the SP. However, not all motorcycle riders are avid wrenchers, so while for someone like me that sounds like a great time, it probably sounds terrible to people who are too busy or just want to ride, leaving the maintenance and modification to dealers.

So to reiterate, I'm not saying the SP is a ripoff or a bad buy, but by the numbers, there's a ton of convenience fee/Ducati tax applied to it. More than usual.

All of the bikes have aluminium tanks (if you are referring to the unpainted finish), also you can buy the parts on that bike for $8.4K. Sure you can order BST wheels but they are not the same, but you have a spare set I guess. Also the dry clutch plus installation, carbon wings, carbon fender, rearsets. Personally, I don't care about a number on the triple in most cases it means nothing. I simply looking at the upgraded parts v a stock S.

Ah okay I hear y’all, I’m into the pets and I’m even considering the V4R because I’ve always wanted an R Panigale & I like that it come it some stock Carbon bits. The problem is I ride street a lot & I track as well I take my bike with me on business trips so I can ride cayons & other cool roads. Thing is I don’t like that both the V4 SP & R come with dry clutch, don’t care for the sound or upgrade in performance as I don’t want to be replacing clutch plates & components so often like 3k-4K miles “it’s what I gout out of owners with V4R”, I rather have wet clutch since I put miles on my bikes. Both V2 no issues. Sold one now one left it’s time for an upgrade.
& yeah I don’t care to have a numbered bike, sounds like more expensive replacement fairings.

Also have a question if I get the bike either V4S or V4R, If motor blows, where or how do we acquire a new motor itself because apparently they don’t cover it.

Yeah I don’t ride normal, I ride it like a super bike lol.

Who told you that? As far as I know, the motor is absolutely covered by warranty as long as you don't custom tune it or .... with it in some other way. I was told when I got my aftermarket exhaust put on that it doesn't immediately void the warranty, only if whatever failure occurs can be directly tied to that exhaust (such as running too lean).

Yeah that’s what I mean, without warranty or custom tuning bike for more power or individual gears, if I do that and the motor blows, where or how can you buy a new one without buying a whole new bike.
