2021 Ducati supersport SS950 engine warning light - gear sensor position error

2021 supersport 950 -
The engine light comes on at unpredictable and irregular times - always brought the bike to the dealer - reading the on-board computer always shows "gear sensor position" error - dealer already installed new sensor twice - problem still remains - any ideas?
