I took my fairings off to give everything a once over and noticed Ducati really went all in on heat protection for the QS and Gear Position Indicator. The QS is wrapped in insulating material and the air duct which is from one of the recalls is present.

Did you see the padded section on the inside of the fairings just above the section shown? Apparently it’s for slide protection? It looks like the spider weave material from a trunk of a VW...

What is it insulating? It’s such a small piece and it’s on the fairing.

The padding on the fairing is not for heat insulation, it is for noise insulation and plastic protection. Otherwise, you would have the plastic from the air conduit in contact with the plastic from the fairings and potentially cause rattles or damage on one or both pieces.

Also got one and seems to be straightforward. If anyone is interested I can write it and include pics.

The question now is where that tiny rubber padding (the one that comes with the bolts) is supposed to go?

Also, the 2 larger rubber padding are to be mounted on the fairing, correct?

Just installed mine, super easy. Kit even came with two washers to place behind the sensor to create a small gap between the sensor and the engine case.

Yes the two foam pads stick to the inside of the lower fairing.

Did you use the washers for the sensor? i didn’t use it it because I figured it was only for the 20/21 v4 sensor.

Everyone who buys panigale complains about heat issue, and trying to comeup with some kind solituon. I seen some of bright minds wrapping pipes, adding heat deflectors, adding air channels, installing portable air fans etc. Nothing really works, parhaps some solutions will provide a little relief but it wont solve the problem. Panigales are design for track and fast consistent riding where incoming air cools and pushes heat away. Bike is not made for city street, its not designed for commuting and sitting on it in traffic. You are sitting on the engine block buddy, and heat will fry your balls.

Yer bike obviously wanted quicker lap times!

Bahahaha

Nothing last’s forever. The part is under $80. Retail has already been lowered almost to cost cuz it’s a warranty item. That means ya can’t get a group discount pricing is as good as it’s gonna get. Why take bike to dealer to save $80 bucks? Keep a spare on hand and let the good times roll : )
