Looks like the V4R will not show up until the first quarter/half of 2022. The current R has been around for quite some time now, relatively speaking.
will that be for the 23 season?

People who bought V4SP not very happy now do the upgrades 2022 model
I know people who still rocking 916,996 998 and they claim that’s best bike ever.just sayingI’m definitely not unhappy about my V4SP purchase, regardless of any upgrades to newer V4s. I now have 4 SP models, 2 are SBKs, in my garage with the latest 2021 V4SP Ducati with the Desmosedici Stradale engine purchased exactly 10 years after my 2011 1198SP with the Testastretta Evoluzione engine. Nothing has yet equaled the torque of the Big Dog engine. Tuned, my “old tech” 1198 puts 105lbft peak (182whp) to the wheel at 8k rpm, but starts with 80lbft at only 4k rpms. 80lbft is closer the peak in most other SBKs
BEWARY of yanking the throttle on the Big Dog as it will get ahead of you so fast you’ll never catch up until you let off or fall off! Later engine designs build to the peak much more linearly and are easier to ride. There will never(?) be another engine like the last 1198 testastretta I LOVE my 1198SP!
Anyway, the more recent SP versions seem to be released just before major upgrades anyway. Right after the 1198SP Ducati released the brand new design Panigale. I wasn’t unhappy with my new “old tech” SP then and I’m not unhappy with my newer “old tech” SP now.
If you’re chasing the latest tech to purchase, then you’re doomed to be unhappy anyway. Just sayin’…
