2022 Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak - DucaBike GP Shift Kit

I installed the DucaBike GP Shift conversion kit on my V4 Pikes Peak.

The clutchless down shifts work. Clutchless Upshifts only work at low throttle input about 15%. Anymore throttle and I have to clutch in to upshift.

Wanted hear from other owners of the Pikes Peak edition or Multistrada V4/V4S that have installed the kit if they are having the same issue. The kit is supposed to be compatible with all the V4 Multistradas.

I have contacted DucaBike about the issue to see if there is a compatibility issue or a defective part. They are checking with the manufacturer of the QuickShifter and other buyers of the kit.

I bought one and it doesn’t work.
I tried contacting IRC to get assistance troubleshooting and it was a total waste of time.
Build quality is a joke, the wires were clearly not terminated correctly into the harness connector.
The bike shows QS error on power up.
I contacted Translogic and they sent me a sensor that plugs right into the harness with no module. So I used the hardware from the Ducabike kit with the Translogic sensor and it works great.
I bought from Ducabike Italy, so getting response from them is not good to say the least. They want me to return the entire kit on my dime for them to look at, and then I will have to pay for shipping back to me. Still trying to decide whether it’s worth the time and effort to return it, or just eat it and move on.
I’m pretty sure the IRC will never work correctly because it takes a few seconds to provide the 2.5v signal to the ECU, so then it goes into error state.
Also, I think the ECU is looking for a longer duration output from the sensor than the milliseconds output of the IRC. The Translogic behaves like the OEM sensor in that the output lasts as long as tension or compression is applied, so it works fine, 100% in both directions.
To anyone reading this, don’t buy the full Ducabike kit, buy the linkage kit and then get the sensor from Translogic. It’ll end up costing at least $100 less, and it will actually work, without any module that you’ll have to route wire for, and find real estate for under the seat.
Added bonus is that the Translogic guys will actually answer emails, and know WTF they’re talking about, cause it’s all they do.
Also speaking the same language helps immensely.

Arsey,

Thank you for the information! Could you tell me the product code for the Translogic Sensor?

Sent you a PM

Would you mind sending me this info as well? I am in the process of piecing this together and would like to know the sensor they have sent you to make sure I am getting it setup right. Thanks for any help!

I need one too please.

I am working on a solution with translogic currently with some assistance from Arsey as well. The kit that I am putting together is very similar to the one Arsey has done. Translogic just added and actual sku/part for the MS V4 I am just working on them creating a turn key solution for the ducabike kit. I have all of the parts ordered so I will update when I have this finished up and tested. Its pretty cold here in Colorado so I do not know when I will be able to road test.

You will need this kit from dukabike RPRC04
You will need this kit from translogic TLS-DCS-J3-MS-V4-ASY (I am working with translogic on supplying the correct rod end and tie rods with this kit)
You may need an aftermarket shift lever from Gilles or Ducakbike for it to work correctly. I personally ordered the Gilles and Arsey has the Ducabike.

How is it going ? Do you have something working ?

I'm lost in gears for weeks every time I come back from the track

Also, what is the purpose of Ducabike kit ?

I'm reading Translogic website and
Ducati replacement Quickshifter DCS sensor for Multistrada 1260 V4 models 2022 onwards with standard road shift. Replaces Ducati OEM sensor with large 3 way black connector. 1dn 5up or 1up 5dn road or race pattern TLS-DCS-J3-MS-V4-ASY

Looks like it can do both road and race shifts. Is it just a matter of settings ?

The Ducabike kit spaces the shaft out from the engine so it has room. In the standard shift the shift lever and bellcrank keep the shaft tucked closer and under the transmission shaft. When you invert the bellcrank position there’s no clearance for the shifter shaft.
The setup also gives more length for the shifter shaft which is needed, as the stock QS is very compact vs having a standard sensor.
The sensor Translogic sent me had two different harness connectors so it would work in both directions.

Would you mind posting a pic of the way you installed the DucaBike kit with the Translogic quickshifter on your Multi? Thanks!

Here is a pic of my setup complete. This does function properly. I have only had it out on two very short rides but I haven't experienced any issues.

You need the ducabike kit to flip the adapter that is on the transmission shaft. This also provides you with the correct adapter to attach to your shift lever.
If you click the ducabike link I added you will see what I am talking about.
The sensor from translogic will say it work in both directions because it does... but they do not include a way for you to flip the shifting pattern. They provide a sensor and the wiring.

That is the one that I ordered. If you are in the states motovation is who I ordered it through. They have to special order it and procure it from germany.
