I think Taz is correct. The EVO 3 package as an option is not the same as the standard package.
On RickD996 his dash it's saying RACE EVO3 , you not going to find that on an original 2022 bike, correct me if i'm wrong.
Does that mean that the software is different or the same?
That's the beauty of software, we'll never know.
But the slick option is only on the additional software, that's for sure.

I believe There is a difference between Evo3 and Evo 3

one comes standard from the factory, one is an upgrade focused on track performance.

search the forum for Evo2 or Evo 2. If I remember correctly the spelling makes all the difference.

Ducati has named their base software exactly the same or ever so slightly different than an expensive software upgrade, but they aren’t the same.

I purchased the Evo 2 upgrade ($900) from Ducati for my 2018 bike. Did not make a noticeable difference to riding dynamics, however any benefits it added to traction control would manifest in tire life. I always get good tire life (4+ days on hard rear and 7-8 days on hard front) so it's hard to tell how much of that is because of the upgrade.

If I were to do it again, I would spend the $900 elsewhere.

Was about to bring this up. I recall the same discussion.

Hey Tom, what tyres are you running?
4+ days on a rear tyre , man that's really a lot. I get in optimal conditions (tracktemp.) about 2 days out of a hard tyre (SC3). I also use the EVO 2 upgrade, so that won't make the differents :)

Talk about confusing… great naming schema Ducati. Clear as mud.

So what would happen if you ran slicks on a stock 2022 V4? I don’t get the whole Race A/B “recommended for Pirelli Supercorsa SC1”

I always get great tire life on any bike. ...., I get 8-9 days out of a rear on my lightweight bikes that don't even have traction control. That's why I said I don't have confidence in attributing my tire life to the EVO 2 update. OK before you say I must ride like a sissy, I am generally mid-pack expert group on any track and in 1-2 particular tracks, faster. :D

To answer your question, I mostly run an SC3, but have a different rear wheel with SC1 that I swap in for running hot laps. I count 5 sessions as one day in my journal, so when I say I get 4 days from a tire, that's 20 sessions. In rare instances where I get tearing on one side, I flip the rear tire half way through, but mostly don't bother with flipping. I never flip the fronts as its too much work.

The TC is ridiculously invasive without the upgrade. Even with the upgrade, on the lowest setting, it's extremely hard to get the rear moving on the gas. Setting 1 should really be about setting 4. I may end up then running 4, but it'd be nice to have the option of more control.

Thanks Tom, I use the same tyres (SC3 and when tracktemp. gets higher the SC1) and I flip regularly, but in best conditions I get half tyrelife (8 to 10sessions).
