2023 Panigale. I'm confused?

It's literally the 2022, but with a minor software update that the 22 also gets? So it's 100% the 2022 model branded as the 2023

I don't think I've ever seen such a minimal update year over year for any vehicle manufacturer.

Also why are journalist reporting the "2023 will be at dealers soon"? I had to order my 2022 in January and got it in April. Is it because it's literally a 2022 with a minor software update?

Why? Are they focused on a 2024 complete overhaul or something? Moving to e-bikes?
 
22 was a short year production wise

I think they are moving into selling 23 bikes (next year model), when you are still in Oct/nov of 22 year

Like many cars and bike companies
 
Sure, it's less that and more... It's the same damn bike 2 years in a row.
 
I'm on a Ducati forum. So no, I don't follow Suzuki. :)

But a $30k bike with no updates between model years seems ridiculous.

In all honesty though, is it a terrible thing that the bike only changes incrementally from MY to MY? Not that 99% of riders would realize the performance changes, but I'm pretty happy that my "old" 2020 is still basically the cutting edge of Ducati's sportbike offerings.
 
This is the getting to the end of the panigale v4 cycle.... look at where it started then the R then all the R knowhow dropped down the ranks, then the electronics got better and better to the point where the base bike is better than the two year old R. thats Ducatis story all along! rinse and repeat!
 
Good for Ducati’s bottom line. I’m ok w no changes for 23. In fact, what brand upgrades electronics for older bikes? If you bought a 22, it’s basically a 23. Going to be marginal gains from here on out anyway until electric or hydrogen tech picks up pace.

They (VAG's Lambo division IIRC) are doing fun things with forging carbon fiber. I'd like to see the CF frame from the SL trickle down to us plebs before I have to buy an electrified motorcycle. "Add lightness".
 
So sounds like 2024 will be first year of the new generation V4?

What's the point of complaining about the 23 being a minor update?

The 19 was minor update from 18
The 21 was minor update from 20
The 23 is minor update from 22

Seems to be a two year cycle with the V4's.

Do you remember what the 2018 V4 looked like?

2019 the R released and was the basis of every V4 since.

The whole v2 to v4 change was monumental for Ducati so everything after is slightly adjusted to the new standard.

the R IS THE SBK version - the other bikes are not
