You're probably not going to get a whole lot of answers on the '22 until the vendors, UpMap and DimSport/SLR actually get their hands on a '22 and start testing.

That CS exhaust looks like garbage and I have never heard of it

Agreed. I’ve heard of it and it’s garbage.

Same could be said for my ex. Doesn't mean fun noises don't come out!

Really though, I like you guys already... ha. For $1k there's no way it can look anywhere near as good as the others, I agree. So which exhaust would you recommend apart from the Akra?

How dare you be so pragmatic in the face of my impatient wait for it to arrive! :p Really though.. you're right. You are right. Sigh.

How about you just leave the oem exhaust on it. You are buying an amazing bike, why would you put some random $1k exhaust on it?! Spend a rack in something good

Yeah I don't entirely disagree. The stock one will be on there for quite a while I bet (given the tune situation for the new year), but I'm expecting stock will be too quiet for my liking. I'd be happy to be wrong after getting used to the bike, but I always find stock exhausts too quiet, especially in lower RPMs / casual riding. Stock usually sounds so choked and muted to me.

IMHO, I tried the Termi slip on and it sounded great. But I hated that fat exhaust loop under the seat. The Akra and the V4R exhaust looks so much better if for nothing else than it makes the loop smaller. Purely anecdotal since I never measured it, but I swear there's less heat soak into the frame with the full Akra.

I've heard a Termi and they do sound fantastic. Definitely up there in my list, and less heat would be a win on any Ducati. I still wonder how much the new 2022 lower fairings will help with heat, but I know the stock cat contributes to the soak even with fairings removed.

Maybe I'll get one of the Termi slip-ons. I know the Arrow sounds louder and more evil, but maybe it'd be too annoyingly loud in comparison.

So the same dude that was having problems with the Termi scraping was having problems with the Arrow melting his boots. The right muffler is at a very steep up angle and was cooking the heel of his boot.

I don't know you or your finances, but I'd go stock until you can buy the full Akra. This is from someone who's owned an 1199 with a slip-on Akra and the full Akra, a Streetfighter V4 with a full Akra, and a Panigale V4 with a Termi slip-on and a full Akra. I work for every dollar I have and Lord knows I could be spending it on better things, but I'd shop for the best price possible for a full Akra. No ...., I paid $3325 shipped for a new in box system. I saw that deal from a Ducati dealer on eBay and sniped it up. Don't be in a hurry and you can get a deal.

Your dealer may give a discount on the full system if you buy it from them within a certain timeframe from when you buy the bike.

There’s the gutted stock exhaust option, for keeping the factory look but louder.

If you’re thinking about saving and getting a Ducati super bike at the same time then you’re in for a surprise.

I wouldn’t put that exhaust on gixxer.

Wait until you can afford the parts you actually want and then get them.

Well said. Isn't it fascinating how most of these exhausts cost thousands of dollars but can't avoid scraping or melting boots?

You have a good point, though. I don't have a rush to get one and can keep an eye out for a crazy good deal that's just too good to pass up.

Say what you want about the CS racing exhaust, but THAT would be pure garbage and an insult to the bike, haha

You're misunderstanding. I was merely asking for opinions on the CS racing exhaust since I came across it on Youtube and it sounded nice. To be blunt, I haven't yet decided what I want for an exhaust, but I can afford any of the options that exist.

That said, there's plenty of .... I can afford that I still don't end up wanting to buy. Maybe it's not the best use of my money to throw $5k down on a piece of metal that's superior in build quality but maybe not in terms of sound or looks or performance. Or hey, maybe it is! That's the part that is always up for debate and personal preference, hence the thread.

I'm not sitting here trying to save a buck and wishing I could buy some overpriced pipe that only costs anywhere near that much because exclusive partnerships and other such business deals on top of Ducati's knowledge that plenty of Ducati owners will pay whatever they are told the price is.

It's kind of hilarious that this thread has come full circle right back to "Ducati is right and most agree it's the full Akra or nothing else" haha

You’re attitude is hilarious!

There’s a reason why not only Ducati but many manufacturers endorse akra. I’m not saying it’s the be all end all exhaust but it’s darn good to say the least.

Haha hey now, you will not once hear me say the Akra is a bad exhaust! I've had Akra exhausts in the past and their quality always shines through. There's many reasons so many companies partner with them for things like MotoGP - I totally get that!

Sometimes it's healthy to entertain alternatives and not end up with every bike sounding and looking the exact same, that's all. I keep an open mind.

Here's my two cents, get the bike and ride it.

Then think about getting a pipe, or not

There is something to be said about that. I get weighing options though.

I don't so much make an argument that Ducati is always right, but you are buying a factory developed exhaust with the support of their dealer network.

My full kit was missing the square grommet which goes in the tail section. I sent an email to the dealership I bought it from along with a pic from the manual of what exactly I was missing. While I don't have access to that part number, they were able to look it up and a week or so later I had it free of charge.

One of the problems with the amazing factory supported 'do no wrong' Akrapovic exhausts was, it dragged on the ground! Lol.

All exhausts have pros and cons, it's great seeing all the different systems I think.
