To WAFatboy and other Aussies.

I have mine booked in next Friday to get what is called the "Ducati Panigale Sprocket Kit upgrade" basically it is an optional change with a Ducati subsidised price for those wanting to change the gearing, if fitted by a Ducati dealer it gets a remap, which is basically the R map, or so I am told.

Apparently it makes a good difference for the track, and is noticeable on the road. I will let you know.

By the way mine has about 7500ks so I am opting for a new front sprocket too.

Cheers

Hi mate,
Are you getting it done at Fraser Sydney ? And what is the freight on that ? PM me please if you do not want to post it.

cheers mate.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys.

I would have got an AFAM kit from Kyle racing or somethign similar but there arent any available in Oz :( The shipping would take at least a week and I'm booked in to get the OEM chain & sprocket changed at my Ducati dealer on Tuesday in time for a track day on Thursday so I think I'm going to just stick with that.

I highly doubt someone of my limited riding abilities will notice the difference between a 520 chain and alloy sprocket over a 530 and steel oem onese but still, shame though, wish I'd got onto it sooner...

Now all I need is rearsets....

isn't the OEM chain 525?

Where is your track day at ? BTW I found just changing the slippery pegs to something with more grip was all I needed.

I hope everyone has seen the special we are holding on rear sprockets and carriers? I posted a thread on this too and have answered m any emails and PMs inquiring if people can mix match other components too. We are open to extending your member discounts on other pieces but this Driven special is kick ass!

Also, the gold RK chain we sell is very high quality in either 520 or 525 so take your pick. I stayed w 525 since there was no benefit for me to swap, and simply retained the stock front sprocket. No matter what you decide you will see results that differ from the stock setup it came with when you bought it. Let us hook you up with anything on this project for you and don't forget to have fun and stay safe with all your new torque!

I went with the -1,+2 for more bottom end grunt seeing as the bike could use a little more down low, also I don't top the bike out often so the lose of overall speed doesn't bother me. Also short shifting is required on occasion IMO, hence the need for more low end. I love it, it does require good throttle control but its quite fun!

-1 here done at the dealer. No rubbing and little loss of top end. Got 186 on the speedo with ease and 190 would have been possible if I had more guts. Wheelies just as much as stock but better gearing for the tracks here in Texas where we don't typically see +180 speeds.

Just picked mine up today with the 41t sprocket and change kit plus new map ( a complete reflash), it makes a hell of difference, but some will not like it, you need to be very smooth on the throttle, I can see why it is an option.

I like it, but I wouldn't go lower than this.

I think on the track it will be far better.

Cheers
