A motorcycle suitable for a superhero??

Believe me I try. She used to be a flip flops and shorts on the back of the bike kinda girl. I had to show her pictures of road rash and threaten to take my passenger pegs off to get her to start wearing boots and pants. I offer to buy her every piece of gear she needs but she refuses to where anything on revzilla.com. Maybe I have her looking in the wrong place, where do you guys get your pretty ladies motorcycle gear?

Dude you'd need to be a super hero if you got clipped and went down. Start by wearing all the gear yourself. Can't expect her to wear it if you don't. T-shirt, jeans and shoes ain't gonna cut it. Don't mean to sound like your Mother just want you both to stay safe. Take care.

Off course the Panigale is suitable for superhero's !

My siblings say I look like a super hero wearing all my gear, especially my track suit.

But yeah, I'd highly suggest wearing some more gear. The difference between her wearing shorts and flip fops, to shoes and jeans is essentially zero - that stuff will tear right off if she hits cement. Not that you're much better in a t-shirt!

Just like others have said, we don't wanna be your mother but 1. We'd like to spare you as much pain as possible if you go down (which it will be a lot judging by your apparel) and 2. Gear does look pretty sweet. That ......... riding down the highway with his t-shirt flying up his back looks more or less like a moron, and makes the rest of us look bad.

That being said, I'm all for pretending to be a superhero for your nephew! Nice job being an Uncle! :D

Everyone likes a girl that doesn't wear pants:D

Well thanks Moms. Do you guys think I need leathers for street riding or would some dianese Kevlar jeans with protective inserts and an alpinestars cloak tech fleece be good enough? I currently usually where my schuberth sr1, alpinestars gloves, Columbia jacket, a nice pair of jeans and my timberland earth keepers. I know that the upgrade will be better than what I have now but do u think it'll be enough to make my mom happy? I could also upgrade my boots but I'd want something comfortable to wear all day because I take my bike to class and would have to sit through hours of lectures with this stuff on.

You are going to get tons of opinions on this, but my use case for motorcycles is a bit like yours (minus the class stuff). I ride them as transportation (and also for fun) and logistically there is only so much gear you can deal with when you are riding to work without carrying the kitchen sink with you. I always wear boots, but I wear low cut ones that I can comfortably walk around in (something like A* S-MX1s or Sidi Dohas). I ride in jeans a lot since I can get away with wearing them in the office and it gets hot in the summer commuting on the bike. I always wear a jacket, full face helmet and gloves (Dainese is my preference for jacket and gloves). I own a couple pairs of textile pants, but don't normally wear them in warm weather. My avatar pic to the left is pretty standard summer getup for me. I can comfortably remove the helmet, jacket and gloves and spend hours in an office environment, classroom, restaurant, etc. without having to bring a change of clothes with me.

Ha! No problem. I don't think you need leathers for street riding, though some people do....I can't get in and out of full leathers every day. Kevlar jeans would be a huge improvement, with or without protective inserts. The fleece is not much better than the t-shirt, you need an actual riding jacket that's leather or textile, with built in armor. If you like Dianese, like me, they make AWESOME jackets (though a bit on the pricey end, but hey look what bike you bought!) Something that can slide along the concrete without disintegrating instantly. Great helmet and gloves though. Timberland earth keepers will probably come right off if you hit the ground. There are plenty of riding boots out there that are easy-peasy to walk in, very comfortable, and give you tons of protection if you go down. I'd definitely talk to someone a Sportbiketrackgear.com they could help you a lot with any of this.

P.S. I'm exactly like Capt CF up there, I ALWAYS wear at least: riding boots (full though, not half like him, but I may be getting some), normal jeans, riding jacket, gauntlet gloves, and helmet. So I can't really knock you for wearing normal jeans, but if you do get Kevlar jeans they are much better.

P.S. Now you have me thinking about upgrading my jeans for when I am not heading into the office. I'll look into some "armored" jeans for fun riding.

Ha! I know isn't it annoying though? The idea of separate jeans for riding? I'm having a hard time with it but I may pull the trigger, we'll see.

Yeah, I hope I can find some that are more protective than my regular jeans, but aren't too hot. Otherwise I may as well wear textile pants.
