While Ducati Performance provides a considerable range of Matte/Satin Carbon Fiber for the Ducati 1199, there are a number of third party alternatives. One aspect that has been heavily debated is the choice of Matte/Satin vs Gloss Carbon.

Personally, I appreciate both Matte/Satin and Gloss Carbon on the 1199.

Recently, valued forum member and valued contributor Mark419ny shared the fruits of the investment he has made in his bike. I really appreciate Mark sharing his efforts with the community and I love his bike.

Bike looks great Mark! Nice work with all the CF and looks very tastefully done.

Who makes the shock cover?

Mark, what make is the CF heat shield? How has it held up to the heat? Any issues? Thanks.

WOW thanks guys i wasnt expecting this but i do appreciate it. I just really wanted to show what i was working on all winter. There were a few guys involved in helping me with ideas on this bike ( Gunny, Cali, Shawn, and Jar, RSR) all helped with their ideas.
ok now the questions
1 flo. the shock cover was from carbon world. Gunny found it i saw it and loved it. i burned my leg on the shock reservoir so thats why i went with that one ( i was wearing shorts which i dont do anymore lol)
2 north the heat shield has not held up i just had it replaced. The reason it has not held up is not because of the carbon and the heat, its because i lost the screws (another thread on that here http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/12577-please-check-all-your-bolts.html) as i was riding and the heat shield was laying on the pipe. now that the screws are in it has been fine. however Im waiting on the new (new old version) cf heat shield to come in i should have it again at the end of the month as a matter of fact i will have an extra one PM i will give you a good price. Keep in mind to make sure it doesnt burn you need the termi ceramic washers. 2 per screw 6 total. The problem is the 2 washers makes you need a longer screw or they will pop out while riding. the new screws are with the new heat shield (they are longer you can order them through the parts dept) just so you know the heat shield is the old one just the screws come from the new ones. just email me if this sounds confusing.

the CF termi covers i followed trans with the group deal

As of today i have the new updated version of the shield but not in cf (also have 2 old versions of cf heat shield coming) im trying to get the cf new updated version.

My bike is in service as we speak. i am doing the 41 t sprocket change with the did zvm chain. so i will be adding more pics. also duca bike hub.

Thanks for the compliments i was surprised at this post for sure

I support your efforts to flush the trash out and highlight useful contirbution. Keep it up! :D

Nice job Mark, looks great! So, when are you stretching the swingarm to match the gloss? (Sorry, couldn't help myself:()

As I've said to you through previous PM conversation, "stupid sickkk bike"

Detail detail detail!!!!

after i get it back tomorrow i will be done. i am having 41t done. no stretching lol. only thing is the brushed alum ducati corse sticker. S pani has the ducati on the tank and the 1199 panigale written in brush aluminum not white so i went with the brushed sticker. then i am done till i get the hp4 comp next year.

You did a great job, very tastefully done too! That thought has been creeping back into my head again. Not sure there's any left out here though.

there are none you have to reserve one for 2014. not that many so you have to hurry

Who makes the shock cover?

For those interested in where I got this shock cover that I got Mark, it is not Carbon World who carries them, its this place. Anyone who calls them can drop my name to Giovanni since I told him several of you were interested in this design and may be contacting him for one. Hopefully it gets you a discount of sorts since I have purchased several pieces from him too. It does come in both matte and gloss as you see from the one I got Mark.

*Matter of fact this is where I got those CF side covers I have been trying to sell as well, and are still available if anyone wants them at half the cost (see link here on them too)

Best wishes!

I also stand corrected since Big Boost ordered one from CW, who did not have them when I ordered it LONG ago. Good job BB!

Not my style, but I can appreciate the time, planning and $ that went into it. I prefer to remove things in the interest of my "less is more" aesthetic.

Looks great just one thing though you might want to look after your chain as much as all that gloss cf.... I see rust

Thank you my fiend, for helping the community. Can't wait to rock this. As I always wanted something like to to cover up those damn wires.

Can't wait.
