Politics are run by people and people are in nature corrupt and self survival... That's why need checks and balances but when everyone is corrupt then it's hard to check or balance anything

Brexit is, if you know how to do math and look at arcane metrics like GDP, was the very best thing for the UK; only rich ppl wanted Bremain for quite obvious reasons..... London was rated recently the most corrupt city in the world, and that's inclusive of 3rd world cities -- global financialization is heading for a major reset....one day...

It remains to be seen if it's good or bad. In fact really we will never know if if was better to stay. What we have done is bugger the world financial markets up for a bit, and then again in a couple of years! Hopefully it becomes all good! What we do have is the two main political parties in utter turmoil. Everyone that campaigned for brexit has now decided they want nothing to do with it . The favourite to be PM was a remainer who is the devil incarnate. So much so people will wish Maggie comes back from the dead. The other lot, have no confidence in their leader who refuses to go because the party members not them elected him and therefore he must stay.

Mean while across the pond you have to choose between a man who to befair is a complete ..... and whose name is another word for the breaking of the wind and a women who for some reason leaves classified information lying around all over the place amongst other things. I'd say she lies as well. But that's a prerequisite to be a politician.

Crazy world. Ho hum! Oct/Nov will be interesting for both countries.

FTSE 100 is UP since Brexit.

It is 100% better to Brexit if you care about your own sovereign laws and economics. This is grossly misunderstood by most people. Socialism is a relative of Fascism and the EU was hatched in a most criminal manner -- yes i actually know the facts about how various nation's GDP and granular econ stats were straight up forged and faked and obfuscated -- the EU is an abomination that is failing right before our eyes, since day one, and no illegal central planning from the likes of Draghi will fix it. Look at Eurozone BANK stocks -- they have been imploding for over 3 years and some would say since 2008 were just merely papered over. Deutsche Bank chart is identical to Lehman as it went to ZERO, Italian banks are bust and begging for bail outs a la TARP so what the EU was and continues to be is a bad ponzi scheme which ultimately only helps the oligarchs and German exports (the mark was devalued when it converted into the euro note and hence German industry thrives while Greece, Spain, Italy and France literally are ...... and then some)...

It's a complicated situation and 99% of people opine, but have just no clue what is really going on.....

edit: and how proficient is your grasp of actual FACTS re: Trump and Hiltery? Her email-gate is actually criminal, yet she is guilty of far worse crimes, from Benghazi to Libya to her cattle trading, to White Water, to Vince Foster, to her money laundering ....... Foundation and her warmongering neocon positions and her similar advisors. Yeah sure Trump had declared 3 bankruptcies from his 500 or so business ventures, and he came off brash, but he is no career criminal and does not want WW3 like Hiltery... i could go on.....

I can't disagree with you regarding the EU. It's on its arse. Its been the only economy to fall, which is amazing in its self. It's mutated into something it was never designed to be. Interesting though what you have written. Us leaving may enforce the changes it need but I highly doubt it. Obviously I hope that we become stronger on our own. It's just the great unknown. And the fact we have weak leadership is never a great thing. Greece have been well and truly screwed over, though they haven't exactly helped themselevs, basically Germany has been dictating this for a while. Oddly everyone else has been basically saying, right sod off Britain go now. Germany has been the one with the more softly softly approach, yes go but lets not be to hasty and work something out. Although this more likely because they are going to have to pay more in. €3bn is being banded about, so they aren't happy with that. Not many people realise France is on it arse.

Whilst the FTSE 100 is up, they are all big multinational companies and should surviveThe FTSE 250 are mainly smaller, UK based, whilst this is rising it's still not recovered yet and is more of a concern.

As for your two. I know a bit, and can only go on what I have read and seen. Military wise, If anyone of enlisted rank to probably Colonel has done what she had done they would be in Levenworth. Generals may have been retired and got away with it to some extent. Civilians certainly prison but higher up obviously would get away with it. People have been done for less. Benghazi was an embarrassing and fatal cluster. And yes she is a crook. If it had been joe public again they'd be in clink. The problem I think everyone sees with trump is yes he is brash. He says stuff before engaging brain. Saying things he can't possibly ever deliver. (Politician trate). Dividing opinion massively, Inciting hatred etc whilst possibly not meaning to. It's known he bullies the little guy. What would he do in charge, he can't walk into a G8/20 summit like that. What I find amazing is that these two are going to be the candidates in the first place. There was no one better on either side? I find that hard to believe.

Two things in life guaranteed to divide opinion: politics and religion. Mix them and you have a right pressure cooker! Add in the media which then skews everybodies opinion then we are all doomed.
