Took a 10 year hiatus from riding after an incident that I was not at fault but the bug never left me and recently got back on a bike. The last bike I had that I was regrettably in the accident with was my 08 Ducati 1098 S.
I had always wanted a Hayabusa so 6 months ago purchased a new 24 Hayabusa and could not be happier having put over 5k miles on the bike in the last 6 months.
It’s such a great bike, so stable and so comfortable with all the driver aids one could ever need.
That being said it’s undeniably a heavy bike which is obviously most apparent when I’m in the canyons and this made me miss my Ducati.
The Hayabusa has a purpose and for me there is no better bike to put miles on, especially highway but I remember the special nature of a true sports bike and more so a Ducati.
I wanted something special and found a local dealer with a 2014 1199 Superleggera with only 390 miles and just picked the bike up last week. What a phenomenal machine, so analog and such a visceral experience, it’s exactly what I needed and the perfect companion to the Busa.

MarK :)

might i ask what you paid? I saw one of these here in Austin marked at 85K...this was back in 2020 though..i think the market has shrunk some..

The bike was on consignment with a local dealer, they had it for around 6 months & were asking $41k. I offered $32k & the offer was accepted by the seller which I felt was a great price for this bike.
