Actual Termi's off the bike!

I ordered the Termi full system with my 1199S but I have a feeling Ducati will come out with a different race system this month or next. Don't care about sound as long as it makes good power. Right now my AMA 848evo has Double Dog, my 1040 has Arata, my 1198s has Termi or Double Dog and my spare 848 has Leo Vince. Arata is the prettiest and lightest by far.

interesting that you say you're interested in power over sound but you choose double dog systems on two of your bikes.
Almost every dyno I've seen of a bike with the DD system looses HP over stock.
(every dyno run except those by Double Dog themselves)

There's a race shop near me (Boulder motorsports) that builds bike for lots of racers including the 2010 (?) WSBK bike for Jakub Smrz.
They've done extensive dyno testing of different systems and last I talked with the owner they find that the Termi full system and Akrapovich full system (which are virtually identical on the dyno) create the most HP of any of the systems tested.

A lot of people like to criticize Termi but they know how to engineer an exhaust system.

I would still prefer Akra. They look, sound, bad ........ Though it shows identical dyno results to the Termis. ;) ill wait for few months till Akra full sys is available to the 1199. I bet it's gonna sound and look hot hot hot!

Anyways, did u know about the new carbon fibre termis weaved together with SS? It looks nice too. Check it out.

Modifying stock muffler

Has anyone thought of going cheaper by modifying stock mufflers to improve flow and sound? I has casoli do this for me on my MV Augusta a few years ago.

Maybe in Jersey. Don't forget to buy the Termi sticker off eBay first.

at the end of the day....nothing is better than oem....don't care what anyone says....put that money up an buy those full termis....stop playing around with those lame slip-ons...i feel so bad for any Ducati that only has slipons....it is so disrespectful....its like taking your wife to mcdonalds on your honeymoon after getting married lol...the stock pipes are made from termis already so it is only right to keep it in the family....only bike that had akras for stock pipes was the 1098r....that was a one n done the first year only

Casoli is/was a company in the UK . I had to send my exhaust to the UK. They took the stock mufflers gutted, polished added baffles bigger pipes, they even had an option to custom powder coat the exhaust tips on the MV.

It was 1/3 the price of the factory high performance muffler/slip-on.

I was thinking of doing the same with the factory mufflers on the 1099 until Akra comes up with something titanium.

Sounds like you got ripped off. You can do the same thing yourself for $100.

also whats the big deal with titanuim....i know it weighs slightly less but not noticeable diff....this bike is already too light....i was thinking about changing to a lightweight batt....but that might not be a god idea....i swear these bikes will be floating soon if they keep getting lighter

Ducati Hovercraft edition, coming soon.

I didn't get ripped off workmanship was worth every penny especially if you like the factory look of the MV pipes.

3.5k for a steel exhaust , now that's a ripoff.

Don't worry about FrostyFire, pretty much all his posts are a combination of frosty or flamey--I mean firey--plus a little sarcasm thrown added every now and then.

The Internet is serious business you know. :D

For now, it's Euro 3.

Latest ETA for Euro 4 is 2014, announced December 2011. In 2008, they said 2012, then they said 2013 (don't remember when, around end of 2010 I reckon) and now it's for 2014.

Some manufacturers are told to be working on solutions for Euro 4, but nothing serious surfaced for now. I once thought that Panigale would be the last Ducati Superbike to be Euro 3, but we may see another version before Euro 4. Anyway, that's just speculation from my side.

Only sure thing is that Euro 4 is not legally in place yet for motorcycles.
