Last day to get these Q3's (190/55's and 120/70's) from motorcycle superstore dot com for $239 shipped using the PB-DUN discount code and a $40 mail in rebate on top of that, making your net cost $199. Can't be beat!

just got my 1199, riding R1s forever, had MV F4, the Michelins pilot powers 2c have been quit good to me. anyone run these on there ducs?

Thanks for sharing that. I've been planning to order a set before the Dunlop rebate ends in April. This is the best price I've seen although I got charged sales tax. I thought Motorcycle Superstore was based in CA? Even with the suspect tax charge it was the cheapest set price I've found.

Soooooooooo, you're telling me I'm better off buying a 190/55..it's wider/taller/more surface area than a 200/50???????

Now I'm really f-ing confused...DAM YOU DUNLOP!!!

What then about this - Michelin Pilot Power Supersport Rear Tires from SportbikeTrackGear.com

200/55ZR-17 (78W) - $251.49

"Whatch-ya-think-about-dat!?!"

I like those! however no track for me... i am going with the PILOT power3's and try that! hopefully i get better than 5000 miles... i shut my TC off no worries there!

try motorcyclesuperstore.com.com Michelin PILOT power 3 $289!

I still have OEM with 700 mi on them, so why does the TC flicker constantly in race mode?

Each mode will change the suspension and TC settings. That will directly effect each other depending on how hard you push the back tire.

If you feel like there may be a problem with your software, I'd match the sport and race settings, then try to duplicate the discrep.

Now I do find it funny that I can get the DTC to come on in a straight more than the turns when riding hard at the Gap.

Width of the tire has nothing to do with it, it's the rolling circumference of the tire that matters most.

since this is true the rolling circumference is more on the pirelli than the q3 and would explain why stw and the rest have to change their TC

ive been educated

fyi the diameter of the pirellis are 656 mm while the dunlops are 649.73 mm . there is the difference.

i think 251 for 1 tire when you can get a set for 230 is crazy. also a 200 marked tire can be anywhere from 191 -209 in width so you should see what the actual numbers are. i know 190 pilot power 3s are actuality 188mm. the pirellis are 193 and the dunlops are 193.5. dunlops are market 190 pilots are marketd 190 and pirellis are marked 200 go figure

Bumps causing the wheel(s) to leave the ground and creating the speed discrepancy leading the ECU to believe you are spinning the tire. When I was using the Bazzaz Z-Fi TC unit you could make fine adjustments via the software to turn down TC when you're blasting down the straights and hitting bumps. That system is still one of the best, even though it doesn't use wheel speed sensors. Amar Bazzaz is a genius.

Been discussed many times here before, but for those new to the conversation:

1199 DTC was also designed around the thust/slip ratio of the Pirelli Supercorsa road tire. Not only rolling circumference, but also the profile of the tire, and carcass construction which affects deformation of the tire (and thus profile) when under load during cornering/acceleration/braking.

I got tired of replacing over-priced tires every 1000 miles of road riding.
I have almost 3000 miles on my original tires and I don't treat them very nicely. Are you doing some Nicky Hayden type riding on the public roads?

My only complaint about the Pirellis is the horrible wet traction.I slow down to turtle pace in the lightest mist.

3000 miles?? you serious thats 4800km in my world - I got 2600km (1600m) out of my first set riding the bike like it was built for :)

I have to believe its connected more to the road surface than the style of riding... I am no road racer but I only get around 2200 miles form my rear SC ...hence the switch to Q3's...:)

I have a 1000 miles on mine, and im just about to the wear bars on the front.

I suspect 1500 miles will be about it.

On the 848, same tires got me about 2500.

Q3's are the dope lol. and I will be switching to them

I got 3800 mi out of the OEM rear - and would have gotten another 500 or so if not for the huge drywall screw I found imbedded in one of the treads. Got about 5k out of the front.

Got about 5k out of the Q3 which replaced the rear. Now back on an OEM rear that I had laying around as a spare. I'll see how many miles I get out of it. The Q3 front I put on now has about 4k and shows no signs of needing to be replaced anytime soon.

Pressures.
34f/37r on the OEM set.
32f/34r on the Q3 set
34r on the OEM replacement

(since PSI greatly affects tire life, I'm posting what I've been running(

you wont be disappointed. im about to invest in my 3rd rear to the 1 front. front still has half tread...its crazy! it should last easily through my next rear, then i will replace both just for the heck of it even if its still got tread.
