When I bought my bike the dealer added a bunch of R&G protectors. rear tail carbon fiber protectors, carbon fiber tank protectors , and the R&G pieces so your jeans dont rub as well as the same material in the middle of the tank to prevent scatching from your jacket. ive removed the protectors and added stomp grip and removed the middle piece as well added the ducati carbon fiber piece. Today I removed the small R&G tank slider protectors after stuggling for a while and realized the dealer used silicone glue. i want to replace them with carbon fiber ones that say ducati on them which I bought from this dude on this forum. But instead of double sided tape the R&G carbon pieces used silicone adhesive and now I have silicone patches. What can i use to remove the remaining silicone without damaging the paint on the tank. when I removed the tank side protectors and middle piece i used WD40 but that doesnt seem to work on silicone.

I think a heat gun would be overkill so I would recommend a blow dryer at medium-high setting and keep working the silicone when it becomes soft enough. It should start to roll off as you push on its edges.

U get a spray called "gue off" it's made for this or a adhesive remover from Wurth, no damage to paint or plastics all citrus based.

A bit of pressure from your thumb and slowly just roll/rub it off bit by bit. The heat from your hands will help too

Place a wet with petrol piece of cloth over the silicone. It will soften after a while. Easily removed.
