Thank you, but that doesn't help at all.
The upper is easy and snap, yeah, but as for the bottom, do I need to remove the fairing?

The bottom half slides between the upper and side fairings. You don't have to remove it but removing the two fairing screws in that area will help. Slide the front section on first (the section closest to the headlights). Everything from there should fall into place.

Thanks I fitted it just now, very easy, I'm not at all good with DIY and I found it simple, just lossening those screws. Can't wait for the rain to stop so I can test.

Yes~!

I like the way it makes the bike look, and I might be alone on this but would be interested in seeing a company produce these in carbon fiber.

Hmmmmm, now that would be a cool idea! I can actually make mine carbon soon and I just may do that! Great idea man. Will let ya know if it comes to fruition. Having all my DP junk cleared by a pro and may be able to take mine outta the box and get them carbonized! :D

PS. Wait until you see the paintjob coming out here on this site. A member took my advice and used my painter in CT for a total body job. Ive seen the snapshots of it and it is SMOKING HOT!

I wonder if these direct more air over the top of cylinder... Provide cooling maybe? I like the look...

I gave up for now. I wanted to take off the fairing to check some internals, but due to the lack a publicly available service manual and a confusing user manual, I wasn't able to do it.

I am not new to DIY and already made some stuff on the bike, but I guess today wasn't the day.

Edit: After clearing my mind, got back at it, and did in minutes. Still don't know how to properly take off the side fairings, but the kit is on, and I like it.

Good work braintrash, I agree, it looks good, makes the beast look a bit more purposeful. Let's hope it makes it go even better.

Thank you.

It will make it go better, although not with your daily commuting. But at high speeds, it helps reducing the wind resistance, and keeping the bike more stable.

It has the same purpose than the two ugly plastic parts BMW added to the 2012 S1000RR, excepted that Ducati did it with style while BMW did it cheap.

As for the paint issues, my guess, now knowing how the system works, is that if you don't take the time to properly remove them, you indeed might damage the paint. But I don't plan to take them off, so it's OK for me.

What I am going to take off are passenger pegs. :-D

Forgot that question. I tried and have no problem locking, nor my hands do touch. It won't affect my driving.
