Recently bought a gp r rossi 2019 winter test. Fit is a little off. I need a little more thickness in the cheek pads and a little less in the headliner. The helmet is a MS.

Do i go to 40mm cheek pads abd a ML head liner? Id hate to have to sell it...

Thanks

You can try those options you mentioned, if it doesn't fit well after that you will have to go to a ML. I had an MS helmet that I didn't realize was too small (fit snug and would get a little head pain after a few hours of use) for me until I bought a new ML recently and OMG that made a WORLD of difference, I wish I would have had ML sooner.

Dealer had a ML, too big. I will start with larger cheek pads and see how that works.

I’d say if it’s marginal and not crushing your head go for the larger cheek pads. Play around with the fit on the crown and try different foam spacers they supply etc. There’s a lot of liner fitting options if the basic shell is correct. My Pista (MS) was super tight and pretty uncomfortable after an hour brand new but quickly broke in to the point that it is all day comfortable and maybe even a little loose at high speed now. Recently bought a new GPR in S and although back to being very tight it doesn’t get uncomfortable or give me a headache and is more stable at speed. A few rides and it will form to my head perfectly.

They do break in a bit and IMHO you want them as snug as is comfortable when new.

Not crushing my head, its the front to back thats an issue. Probably because its intermediate oval and I am move of an oval. My Xlite 803 medium fits my head perfect.

I ordered the 40mm cheek pads (stock are 34mm) to see if that helps. I really really do not want to have to sell it. :(

Fog Machine

The Pista is a great helmet, but just wait until you need to see out of it. The shield fogs up like that's it's job. Even after 3 hours on the road, you come to a stop and the thing becomes opaque. Not to mention the breath guard actually deflects your breath onto the screen, rather than from the screen.

Really?
After many years Shuberth, I got myself the ‘Veloce S Fulmine’, which is the basic version of the Pista w.o. rear ‘wing’ (air deflector) but with same SHARP rating, also ‘intermediate oval’ fit, dito inner lining, D-ring, same vent setup and same visor system for a third of the Pista prize.

SHARP safety:

Veloce S comes standard with a transparent Pinlock insert.
No fogging at all with this version. No matter how much moist or heavy rain!

Pinlock is also provided as standard with both R and RR versions of Pista, which makes sense given its triple prize.
You can additionally buy tinted Pinlock as accessory.

Therefore it must be ill-instalment, if your visor fogs up with a Pinlock installed?

Depends how much more you need on cheek pads, get S (little thicker), or XS (Max thickness) cheek pads, and a ML on head liner it will configure as you describe how you want it

Admitted I didn't pay £1600 for a lid that doesn't fit, I'd be pissed! But hear you about the fogging. I bought an AGV K5, and wish I had read between the lines about the 'touring' design. With hindsight I realised this meant the aperture we look out of is too low, on a sportsbike, and the top of the pinlock creates a line to make the aperture even smaller. Not good from a top manufacturer.

"different aperature"
With both at same MSRP, that's exactly why I went for VeloceS and not K5 as my next track helmet.

VeloceS is simply a "˜poor mans' Corsa/Pista or from another perspective: almost a 1:1 GP Tech successor. GP Tech saved me during a nasty highsider and was sadly trashed as a result.
Fit of both is perfect for me. So good even that my "˜street oriented' Schuberth helmets are collecting dust nowadays, since I wear the VS also during all my road-tripping.

I guess that's why AGV is quietly phasing out VeloceS to replace with K5 (with totally different mold though), since with VeloceS they are offering most of Corsa/Pista at a third of their MSRP...
