As im in New Zealand, I'm having real trouble trying to find a distributor to buy a replacement air filter.

After reading the threads it seems beneficial to replace the filter as soon is I fit the termi slip ons.

I've tried going to BMC's site but they'll only sell to people in the U.S or Canada and also the U.K site will of course only sell to people locally. Sprint Filters seems to be a harder site to navigate altogether and then there is MWR which again I've had no luck with...

What success have you had with the above filters and can anyone provide a link so that I can purchase?

Managed to get a BMC filter out of eBay Italy thanks to another member... Next mission to find a dark tint screen

:D someday I may bring my 1199 to wellington. I'm from the US but I miss NZ man! Wonderful people there.

You really think so? Let us know, thanks!

I really do, it seems like a lot of people are hesitant to work on their bikes here. I have quite a bit of experience with inlines and vtwin sport bikes. I've had to rebuild my RC8R twice now and I have a ton of tools lol. It did take me 2.5 hours for the slip-ons though. It was faster with my full Akra on my CBR1000RR lol. I'm just saying, when you have to recover and repair this, nothing phases you lol...

Cold and wet at the moment man, good thing my Pani is still yet to arrive - maybe this week!

Almost have the RC8 back together after my mate had a wee mishap, have looked at the instructions for slip ons and it does look time consuming. Let me know on the filter...

Damn, did he highside it? I just lowsided it twice. (RC8RS running it in MRA when I can)

Fully repaired:

Yip came down hard on the left hand side, good thing those trellis frames can take a beating! I was surprised that it was still straight actually. More cosmetic than anything but has given a good chance to modify a bit.

You're damn straight, the thing is a tank! I'm a little more concerned about the Pani lol.

It's actually the 2011 RC8RS. So it has the full EVO Ti Akra System here's what it sounds like idling, no baffle:

Damn that thing is loud, I bought a Quat-D as the AK was around $9k when I bought the bike in '08, couldn't justify spending a third of what the bike was worth new on pipes alone. It would seem no-one liked the Quat-D setup as I got them for a bargain price of $1500 out of a bike store in California and to this day I've not seen another with the same setup. It sounds great!

Yeah, my friend's '12 RC8R got lifted 3 days ago. Found it yesterday with a little damage. There's a huge theft outbreak in CO right now and no ...., hundreds of bikes are disappearing... Guess they didn't know it uses coded RF keys. Rookies, lol.

Really, that sux. Sounds like you guys need a GPS transponder so you can find your bikes and beat the .... out of these guys! On that note as I'm still yet to pick up my Pani, are the keys aslo coded? The last Ducati I owned was an old but very cool 916, technology was too old back then to have an ignition on a bike that woudl take to the key

They both have immobilizers with double sided RF keys. Will get lojack when I can afford it/higher on priorities, $700 installed. The only thing you can do is part it out or buy a new HUD, lock, and keyset.

Changing the subject, have you replaced your screen? Seems to be a lot of talk for a higher/double bubble. I can see the benefits but as its not going to really be used as a track bike I like the look of the factory screen height but it definately needs darkening...
