Don't know if its been posted here yet - Akra have released sound clips of their exhaust. You can check them out here:
Akra Exhaust

Look below the pictures and you will see the two links.

They will be releasing videos soon, can't wait to see those :)

Look and sound about the same to me. The stock one seems to be louder than the Akrapovic without the inserts, of course it could be just the way they recorded the sound clips. We will have to wait and see the performance gains, if any.

Gains were posted quite a while back by Xbox:

Gawd, those sound clips sound terrible through my iMac speakers

IMO, one of the biggest negative for the Akra is gonna be fitting hassles and/or fitting cost :(

Obviously a quality product, but it maybe beyond the mechanical skills of many a home mechanic.

i agree and if i may also add the need for tuning. your in over 5k when you add that and install. I would love to get akra but its going to be term slips for me.

that graph is it termi full system vs the akra system?

I'm just not seeing the value for me and the rest of the "regular" riders out there in any of the aftermarket exhausts for the Pani. With my monster and SF it was like night and day and easily the best money I ever spent on either bike. They went from purring kittens to snarling angry beasts that shook the ground when you rode by and popped and crackled on downshifts. The first ride after install made your cheeks hurt from all the smiling. I don't get it with the Pani. I haven't heard anything that sounded that much better than stock and for us regular joes that don't push the bike a couple of HP doesn't mean anything. Is the problem that I haven't heard them in person? These recordings sound so similar I wouldn't spend $2k much less $5k.

There's a cleaned up audio clip on here somewhere of the AR system that sounds badass! However, I agree most of these clips don't sound all that much different than stock, at least where AK and Termi are concerned and I have the Termi slip-ons.

When I got the bike I figured another set of termis was a foregone conclusion, but after trolling around youtube, etc. I just don't get that same "OMG, the sooner I can throw these on the better" feeling from any of the clips. I do think the termis look a lot better than the stock cans with covers, but at this point prob not worth the money for me. I remember my first set when somebody commented, "NOW it sounds like a Ducati". With the others exhausts, you simply didn't care what they cost since it took the bike from like an 8 to a 10. With this bike I am not so sure it is worth it and is more like going from an 8 to an 8.5 in terms of "overall bike improvement". Dunno, just one guy's opinion and it's worth exactly what you paid for it! :)

austin racing exhaust makes the 1199 sound like a 70s muscle car wit a straight back exhaust......sounds way better than any other ducatis setup ive had in the past.....i sold my full termis and dont have any regrets at all

Its funny to read different opinions on here... I have never previously bought Termis for my bikes.. for the 1199 I did (slips).. Not cheap as we know ..although I got mine at a really good price.. Having installed them I can honestly say it has improved the bike immensely.. Are they louder than stock?? Barely.. But the volume isn't the point really..the 3 differences to me are as follows..

1. No silly flapper castrating and suffocating the bike
2. A deeper more throaty sound.. Not really louder but definitely sweeter
3. Noticeably smoother and better performance..fueling is great...

Is this worth the price??? I guess that's each individuals decision...
