You'll tell them the parts you have installed, and they'll ask some questions about how you ride and preferences. Some people like pops and flames on shifting, but that's not really my thing. They use the Dimsport tuning device, as does SLR Tuning (also recommended) and Bren (meh, read reviews). You'll use it to extract your factory tune and email it to them. They'll modify it to your preferences and installed equipment and email it back. Then you flash the bike. This was a same day thing, IIRC, even given time zone differences. At any time you can revert the bike to stock. The only catch is if you take it to the dealer you MUST flash the OEM mapping or strictly instruct the dealer not to flash or upgrade any software/firmware, as this could lead to you having to buy a new license to put the aftermarket mapping back on the bike. This applies to any tuner who uses the Dimsport device.

With Termi, the T800 has canned maps you can flash and you can pick and buy what you want. But, if something goes bad, you have to go through their support which by posts others have made, can be sketchy. I didn't have a problem, and was satisfied with the result. But, when compared to communicating with Deussen, I had their Whatsapp number and even when I texted questions after the sale and install, I got very prompt responses.

If you are putting a lot of value on the factory warranty, the OEM Akra tune is what you probably should get. I didn't because it was a lot of hoops to jump through for what was reviewed as a lackluster tune.

Thanks a ton . I have Decided on full Akra and deussen tune based on your experience and review.

Who do I contact for US sales over at deussen ?

I have a brentune on my 2023 V4 and it's unreal. Literally couldn't ask for more and have had zero issues.

Feels like I'm riding on a dream. Mid-range completely fixed, it's telepathic and smooth even on maxxed out engine settings.

Just my experience.

I agree.

Buying an amazing bike then chucking a whatever exhaust on it just so you can have something louder is fundamentally disrespectful to the bike... Akra is made by engineers from Ducati and Akra for the bike and comes with a great tune. That SC project slip on looks terrible, looks thrown on the bike. Here is the exhaust hierarchy for these amazing bikes:
1-Akrapovic
2-Termi (wouldn't recomend)
3-Everything else Bolt on junk including the SC project WSBK exhaust that cost $7k

Brentune is a laughing stock of bike tuning world, they are clowns trying to make a buck and they don't know .... about bikes.

Why would you not recommend the Termis? I have the slip ons and they are tried and use in motogp and wsbk settings. Here we go with the most expensive exhaust is the best one 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ .

Dragging up an older post as I've recently seen a dyno graph for the Ducati tune with full Akrapovic on a 2019 V4R and the same done with a new V4R, both bikes being owned from new by the same person and done on the same dyno. The graph on the 2019 wasn't particularly good but the graph on the 2013 bike is really very good. I was surprised how much better it is for the 2023 bike.

I currently have a 2023 v4 with a full lower Akra exhaust, I've also owned a 2019 V4 with stock exhaust no-tune. I know it's not apples to apples.. $5k later for the tune and exhaust on my current bike.. I feel like I got a deal. It would be a crime to spend $30k on a bike and not spend the last $5k to make it come alive. I've posted previously.. the bike felt dead in the mid range and the sound was mehh. Now it sounds like a F14 and absolutely rips from 4k-11k... from 11k on its always been torqued. I think dyno's show pre and post that 11k and up is always fairly negligible?

I would never buy one.. but I was looking at prices for slip-ons.. why someone would spend that kind of money on a tip is beyond me, just get a full exhaust and more importantly a good tune.

I don’t agree with the last part. Dismissing it as just a tip ignores quite a bit. I initially bought a Termi slip-on which was around $2.8K. It removes the catalytic converter, sounds better, comes with a tune and a high flow air filter. I only went to the full Akra system as I found a good deal for a new one online. I wouldn’t pay $5k…plus whatever it was for new lower fairings for what is a marginal difference in weight.

Fair point.

I got a brand new panigale akra for $3k and paid $1k for a tune. I agree with not paying $6k plus for a brand new setup. I also opted against the akra factory map and went with something else (nice having that flexibility). I guess what you're saying makes sense.. the Lambo SFV4 comes with the slip-on if I'm not mistaken.. I couldn't quite understand why they went that direction for a $70k+ bike.

Do a search on brentune, plenty of negative experiences here. Basically, you are in the market for a canned tune, if it was me and my $40,000 motorcycle, I would go either Akra official or something from a dedicated Ducati specialist.

I still don't quite understand what you are after? To unlock the full power from this bike, the easiest way is to get the full race system from Ducati, it's plug and play, The next best alternative is to get the low Akra slip ons.

Stock, these bikes are plenty fast enough, and if I had my time over instead of getting the full race system, I probably would have got the low slip on and spent the extra money left over on a spare set of wheels and slicks. If you are on a budget, get Phil to de-core your stock cans and get a dyno tune, It will sound and go awesome.

Can I ask you professionally why you think they are "trash"?

I think guys on this site had issues with brentune in the early iterations.. I have other brand tunes including what is most pushed on this site. I had zero issues with brentune on my 2024 SFV4. That’s just my experience, I know there are a few others on here that feel the same.

The guy haven't even try the akrapovic tune/map neither the BT. He just talks.
