I am new to Ducati so still learning a lot from here but still looking for more knowledge as always. I'm having the DP Akra full system and a sprint filter put on my 1299s this week and it comes with an upmap key. I understand this unlocks a new map for the bike but has anyone used it and compared it to the rapidbike auto tune? I am seeing a lot of good things about the RB on here but was curious of how much of a difference there actually is. Thanks for your help!

My 1299 came wit the slip-on akra, and wanted the full exhaust.
I immediately upgraded to a full exhaust akra, so didn't get to ride the bike with the slip on. Then at the 600miles service I upgraded to the RB, and the difference was significantly noticeable; much smoother 1st and 2nd, and unleashed more torque.
I guess you if you are going to a full exhaust and RB at the same time, you probably won't have to do the upmap key, you can always call RB.

I did AFR logs of the DP Akra upmap... It isn't pretty... I would recommend a proper tune as a tuner who knows his stuff will start safe and increase gradually as the trim tables are ready...

Thanks, sounds like RB is the way to go!

The only dyno guy in my area closed up shop a few months back or I would defiantly be having it custom tuned.

So you suggest to save money and buy the "normal" Akra Evo system without the upmap and have it tuned (dyno RB etc) ?

This is exactly what you should do.

Well I finally found a dyno shop that specializes with ducati (ducashop) only a couple of hours from me so here in a couple of weeks I'll be taking it there to get tuned instead of the upmap key. He did say I'll need a tuneboy though.

Get the RapidBike and there's no need for a dyno tune.

Any fueling solution is capable of auto tuning. But properly tuned tables will always be better than fueling based on feedback and O2 correction. That is why you should get a dyno tune.

I got a dyno tune and you know how much difference it made in numbers? Zero. Granted I have quite a bit tied up in my fueling setup. Not just the RB module.

I'm hoping to have it on the dyno before the end of the month. I will post the results of a base line pull and a tuned pull.

I understand this post is a few months old. But I would like to ask. What was not pretty about the Air Fuel Ratios? I have an UP Map key with my full Akra and interested in your findings.

Best,
