Alternative way for installing front direction indicator

-- i'd say let Gecko handle it (he in fact is handling it) :)....he has gotten it this far.....8 weeks is 8 weeks....a good approximation seems good enough.....

Fair enough! I just want to get rid of those damn bunny ears already! lol

I just mailed the production company and wrote that the "kick off" has taken place. This weekend I'll draw the blueprints so that I can send them next monday. I assure you that any delays wont be caused by me!

Please add me to the list. I will commit to buying a set. I would hate not to have them if I need them down the road.

My plan is to install LED headlights from the 1199S to my 899... so looks like I will have a place to use them after all.

Thank you for doing this Gecko!

Cool.
Updated list:
2 x RD16RR
3 x BigBoost
2 x Gecko
1 x cwilkie
1 x bradp51
1 x wachuko

This looks like a well executed solution. I would be very interested to see how the signals appear in action. Would it be possible for you to create a short video showing this from multiple angles?

I am really not a photographer at all :(
Took a picture in the garage and made a video with my GFs cellphone this morning in direct sunlight.

Blinker - YouTube

Please take notice that the indicators are not part of the kit.

the bike looks a lot better than the blinker :)

-- the headlight flicker on YouTube doesn't happen in use does it ?

again, i believe a larger blinker integrated into a small bar-end mirror is the best solution... that LED surface area could be significantly larger and as such much more visible sans the extra(neous) parts/aesthetics..

Thank you for taking the time to do this & for your efforts here. They are greatly appreciated.

Potentially.......

If you concerned with the size of the blinker here, you could always use a larger indicator than the one utilized here.

true; but i am concerned with several elements simultaneously :D

No... that has to do with the recording... the frame per seconds in recording overlaps with the frequency on the LEDs and give the effect that the LEDs are flickering... eyes do not catch it, but recording does... I hope that made sense... similar to when you see a video of the rotor of the bike (or wheel) and the spokes seem to be rotating weird...

Perfect explanation. Panigale headlights are pulse width modulated (PWM). Stop light, brake light and blinkers are continously supplied.

BTW: Do not install the resistors delivered together with some blinkers, first its not neccessary and second it could destroy parts of the bike's electronics (worst case).

Question: In Switzerland we say "Blinker" and not "turn light indicator signal" or something like that. Is it okay on this forum if I just call the device "blinker" in the future? Or what is the best/coolest term in English?

:)
IMHO any bike looks best without blinkers!
But one gets really into trouble nowadays in Kraut Lands with these pen pushers :(
Especially with a bike that is officially homologated with 110 dB at 5800 rpm!!

Many thanks for the video. This looks like something straight out of a Ducati Performance catalog. I've elected to not run front turn signals as they're not required in my state of residence, but if I were in the market, these would certainly be on my purchase list. I look forward to seeing how they look on other members' bikes. Well done.

Update #1

As promised I made the blueprints over the weekend. Send them to the production company and received some comments about feasibility for production on their CNC machines. Yesterday I modified the blueprints and send them for review.
A couple of minutes ago I received the go!
It's really exciting, I've never done such a project before. I've ordered 10 kits and already paid the USD 2000.-
They will make some kits more if there would be a request later.

Next steps will be digitalization and programming of the machines, preparing tools and chucks.

As stated in the previous posts it'll take some time because it's really a pilot lot.
Kits will be finished end of September and sent to me. So delivery to you should start at begin of October.

I hope that you're contented with the progress.

....sounds great.....let me know when you'd like to process payment

Thank you very much for your faith. I will post a detailed cost overview on this thread before asking for the payment. Currently the cost for production is 150.- EUR = 201.- USD. Shippment + VAT to Switzerland will add. Then packaging and shipping to you guys. Shippment costs will differ dependent on the destination country.

and impound and auction off your vehicle if you're doing >70 km/h over the limit
