Some of you may have heard of these, they're convertibars (www.convertibars.com). Essentially fully adjustable risers that can give you pull back + rise + angle adjust-ability. Currently they make clamps of various sizes but they don't make the 57mm for us 1199/1299 base model owners with Marzocchi forks!

I've talked to the owner and he has indicated that if there is enough interest then maybe he will consider making the molds that will fit the 1199/1299 base models.

I've done a lot of research and these bars are much more customizable than all the others on the market, hence why I'm hoping to get my hands on some. They run for ~$340 USD.

So is anyone else interested in potentially getting a pair of these for their 1199/1299 base model?

Here's some pictures/video demonstrations.

Old school video but demonstrates the purpose quite well:

had a feeling these were coming haha

You guys have a point. I get the whole "get a different bike" argument but some people want a balance. you dont have to go all out adjusting like they do in pics/vid. just pulling back + slight rise alone would change comfort drastically.

with that being said, carry on with the flaming haha

The new Super Sport coming out is the good balance. In fact, compared to my PS my Pani feels more like a Sport Tourer already.

Yeah, I've seen the new supersport at the IMS in NY. It definitely seems much better in terms of comfort but I have to say I'm not a fan of its changes in front fairng looks/lesser power.
These should help the riding comfort also. : D

hahaha touchẽ

Get some Gilles tooling variobars, DP comfort seat and Sato rearsets...BOOM! DONE!... If you need more then that go add another bike into your garage or trade it for an uglystrada Pikes Peak 1200!... Just saying..

Adjustable bars

What is this all about?????????????
It's a "Paingale" sports bike!!!!!!!
Buy a Harley

Ok well I guess that puts me into the proverbial "looser" category. Obviously not everyone here including myself is a hard core, breast plate to the tank bad ass. Yes the bike is a sport bike but look at in context. I have a lower back injury from MX years ago. I use the VarioBar setup. It puts me in an anatomical position that allows me to ride the bike all day without issues and without, in my opinion compromising any aspects of performance or sacrificing any aesthetics. In fact I usually have to point out the bars when someone is looking at the bike. On the track, for me, its excellent. I would never notice any performance difference in comparison to a low set of clips. If it's a pure track bike or you actually race the thing then OK but that is less than 1% of the people on this board. I tend to like to build things that enhance the global picture not wondering if lightweight valve caps are going to improve my commute time to Starbucks. Use what allows you to get the most out of what you bought the bike for.

as far as i can tell, up in the twisties, it's a lot of work to lose the buddy on the Streetfighter behind me..

i have always loved the more upright seating position:

also gets you more pu$$y as per the vid.

Agreed! I rode my new 1299S home a couple weeks ago and was mildly surprised on how comfortable it was but I will be putting on the DP race seat and also realize that it will ergonomically lower my reach to the grips. Like you, I have had a couple minor back injuries in the past so if I need to add the Variobars to get myself in a comfortable and safer position then so be it!

i think talking about the streetfighter option / look ...

Superbike/Streetfighter Gabelbrücke Ducati 1199 Panigale ab 439,00 ? - Der Ducati Store - Ducati Scrambler Shop

this would be a good deal too, giving you a good selection of bars.

i have made me some riser clamps for the 57 mm od of the base forks, for giving it a more upright position.
now that i'm going to race the pani, i will most likely not use these...
Exactly, the streetfighter style and upright position is made possible with new bars. I'm toying with the idea of a semi-streetfighter build with mine for the future. Like you mentioned, Jeremy Vonk's bike is a good example, I actually messaged him on Instagram and he said he uses the convertibars on his 53mm forks of the 899.

So much truth, majority of riders ride on the street day to day in real life. Not everyone is trying to be a hardcore badass in full racer mode on the way to work in the morning (...like some the guys on the first page of this thread haha). Even though I'm young and have no real excuse I want my bike to be more comfortable while still being the same bike and not sacrificing aesthetics like you said. Traffic in NYC is unbearable and lanesplitting is often impossible (and illegal technically). The position of the bike kills me and my comfort is worth some new bars 100%.

Cool Video.

Who's up for doing their own "Re-Make" of it using either the 899, 1199, or 1299?

Cmon Gents. I know any of you are able to do this sort of stuff - no? ;)
Good news, it looks like Steve at convertibars has graciously decided to make the molds for 57mm forks and within a few weeks I'll be able to give you guys a walkthrough step by step once I order mine! I'm pretty stoked!

Exactly, getting some new bars to make the bike more suitable to your own needs is the number one priority. Variobars are solid good for sure, one thing I like about convertibars is they're much more adjustable and can revert back to stock position with just some adjustment whenever you want so that's key. They already have them in 53mm which fits the 1299s Ohlins forks so those are worth looking at aswell if you go the new handlbar route with your bike.

I'll be sure to update this thread for you guys once they come in!

lol we couldn't help but have some fun on the first page.
I'm not so young at 53 but I also don't use my bikes as commuters. They're strictly canyon and track toys. They help with my illusion that I'm still young. If I was looking for a commuter that would handle an occasional trackday, the Multistrada Pikes Peak or Streetfighter or Monster R would have been my top choices. As for now I'll keep popping Aleve in the evening for my injuries. :D
