I did install them myself without a hitch. upmap loaded perfectly. I reccomend doing yourself if your capable. If you can do an oil change and read directions, you can do it. Took about 4.5 hours
A great way to bond with your bike.

What'd you do with the wire cable that connected to the inner part of the blower motor after removal?

Im going to be fitting the same next weekend .....When you remove the cable and servo motor do you just put the plug cap on the unplugged cable and leave it ? Why is there a flapper valve in the pipe if you dont use it ? with the Termis Y connection ?

Yes to the plug cap but I'm still curious about the actual 'cable' that is left coming down near the rear tire that you have to dislodge from the inner mechanism of the fan motor.

Buehler?

I have hex and TORX and this bolt has a hex female opening. The smaller screws fastening the exhaust fan have the star female * opening and for those I use TORX.

Yeah ..the fan housing is Torx... I was assuming those were the screws you were having issues with?? The others are hex and are easy to get to...

Yes, it is that simple, and no, I am not a Ducati tech. Take a breath, and look at what you are trying to do. The allen that you refer to is accessed after removing the footpeg bracket if I remember correctly. I had to hog out the smaller of the hanger holes on the Termi - no big deal, and then buy the appropriate bolts at my local hardware store to fit (the holes as they come are too small for my liking). It really is a simple project, and I am confident you can do it. Take it a step at a time, and if frustration starts to show its ugly head, step back and take a break - far better than buggering something. A couple of inexpensive specialty sockets from your local Sears (shorty 8 and 10mm universal sockets/allens if memory serves) really make the job a snap. You can do this. Like a previous post stated "it is a bonding experience with your bike). Have fun.

I've done slips and headers. Let me know if you need any help.

I removed the cover and the cable.

As you can see it's a PITA for the headers.

LOL, love the explosion of Allen wrenches strewn about with other tools, totally depicts the state of mind for me while going through the steps. Looks exactly like my garage now minus the headers part.

So the wire braided cable thingy that I'm referring to, you actually follow it up to wherever it goes and remove it completely?

Thanks a bunch:D

Guys,

There should have been a full booklet of instructions, the full system requires removal of the tank, rotation of the rear subframe, and take the rear set off, it gives you much more room.

Loosen everything before you take it all off, makes the removal and refit easier, fit everything loose and tighten up once its all in place.

If you don't have the book, send me an email addy and I will scan it and email it to you.

Bowdy

They are available on line, let me post it up to save you and the others' time :).

I’ve uploaded the install guides for the slip-on, collector kit and full system from Termignoni for the 1199 Panigale to our online store. It details the install including how to load the correct mapping. I know a lot of you have been curious about how this will be done for a while and I’ve already read a ton of incorrect info on it. This should clear it up.

Select an exhaust below and click the resources tab once the page loads. Then you can download the pdf.

Took my first ride today at 27*F on the Pani after DIY termi slip on install. Bike sounds friggin fantastic! Nice little burp/pop each time I qs and overall more throaty sound which I loved from my 996.

Still don't understand why I had to remove the flapper cable as part of the termi install or even the actual purpose if the flapper.

Can anyone answer this for me?

TIA

The purpose on this bike is EPA mandated noise control. There are some instances when the back pressure will help at lower RPMs, but who rides their bike at low RPMs?

I took the motor, cable, and cover off. If you haven't get rid of the charcoal canister and AIS. Did you leave your inserts in?

Side note, after removing the stock collector pipe, I notice a shoddy weld that was leaking exhaust. Not happy about that, but the Termi's are much better made thankfully.

I just put a deposit on a 1199 today. I'm looking into the Termi slip ons. I read something about removable DB killers. Can someone explain this to me? Did you remove yours?

Removed mine. They're a set of metal baffles that go in the exhaust silencer end caps to reduce the noise.

Congrats, my nephew lives in Mobile btw.

The db killers are just little 3-4 inch metal sleeves/tubes that fit inside the end of the exhaust can like extra baffling and can be easily removed with an Allen wrench. I took mine out before I even finished installing.
