Anyone get their AR Heatshield yet?

I don't think it looks bad at all, but like Pedrin says, not sure how functional it is. It looks like even less of the pipe is covered than with the OEM.

Lets be clear, I'm not expecting it to make a huge difference, and certainly no more than the original OEM component but that's actually not the point.

I wanted it to put a physical barrier between the pipe and the other parts of the bike I.e the fairing which sites above and very close to the pipe, which also has a bunch of wiring inside - this is essentially what I'm trying to protect first. (See pic)

My legs will still get hot but the inconel seems to cool quickly, avoiding some of the heat build up that plagues the bike, and as I was one of those annoying people that never really had a big problem with heat (other than once at a track day) Im sure it will dissipate the impact. As you've heard now from others with the new 'massive' OEM heat shield they are still getting heat related rashes and 'burns' so I'm pragmatic about the effects.

I'll take,some pics outside today.

I think it looks good! Two questions though:
1. Do you think it will help at all?
2. Does the carbon match the other AR carbon?

#1 I think I've answered above

#2 yes it's like the carbon on the pan but its actually the carbon on the hugger that's more important for it to match as it sits right next to it - it doesn't match exactly the weave but its satin & close enough.

Meh, pre-drilled holes are too wide apart.

I had the same thing, I used a craft knife to trim the right hole just a few mm and I was able to get it to fit no problem. Agree a bit 'meh'

One thing that is different about this shield is the fact that there is no air 'gap' between the top of the heat shield and the bike as it bolts straight on. I wonder if that will make any positive difference to the end result?

STW, did you recently acquire an AR exhaust? You seem very interested in WA's heat shield.

Once again you pop up trying to stir the pot....and yet you are one of the chief whiners when threads go sideways....

My comments are pertinent and germane ..Are yours???

Honestly, I only felt heat when sitting in traffic. The exhaust sheds the heat so fast it was rising and I could just feel the waves. Also coulda been from the exit but I felt it mostly from the loop. Now the heat shield stick out on the right side a fair bit I'm hoping this is enough space to divert the heat. I will find out more tomorrow when I take her for a spin. But of not tomorrow for sure Wednesday.

I'v been running my AR without any heatshield and it has been fine for me, I was riding in jeans on Saturday in central London heavy traffic in 28degree weather and had no problems. As discussed though the heat thing must come down to where your legs are due to your height, i'm 6'4 and its hot obviously but not problematically so.

I've ridden in hotter weather and I've been fine but it doesn't mean that the bikes components aren't being cooked. Glad to have it.

Yeaahhh, I'm 5' 8" :/ douche! Hahaha! Friend of mine who a bit taller did day he didn't feel it as much. Either way, it's nice to have that barrier.
