Anyone get their AR Heatshield yet?

So, just an update on the heat shield from AR. Got it fitted Monday night but couldn't get a ride in till today. Pretty nice weather today, humidity was way down and weather felt like 90F.

Back roads felt good going from 45-85 respectively and didn't really feel anything. Engine temp was around 175-185ish.

In town and with stop and goes with a little bit of a blitz run. Got engine temps up to 219F while sitting around in a few stop lights. Felt more heat coming from the rear cylinder head (typical). I don't have the covers on the cylinder (it looks tacky and pointless to me). I didn't even notice the heat coming from the loop. I was really trying to focus on where I felt the heat waves rising up. Honestly, I didn't feel it from the pipe at all. I'm thinking I may have to ride some more, right?!

WAfatboy made the reference it is directly attached to the "sub-frame" where the lower passenger pegs are and think that would have a different impact to dampening the heat versus the standard heat .... which bolts on to the exhaust from stock and Termi race exhaust? I think he hit it right on the nose.

So, that's all I got. I'm happy. Now I just need to get the little lady tuned! Maybe tuneboy will have another group buy? :D

The best way to replicate the worst effct would be to go for a good high speed run (140kmh+) for 30km+ and then stop and crawl as if in traffic - if it doesn't feel hot then we can safely say it works!

Can't wait until Saturday to test it.

Ok so I've been out and done a proper ride with a view to heating things up! It was 70F ambient temp. The heat shield works great, didnt feel anything during the ride, and when I started stopping, dawdling in traffic after the long high speed ride, the temp got up to 200F and felt nothing on left leg and just a little on right, much cooler than with the uncovered AR pipe, and cooler than the stock pipe/shield.
