Hi!

I am interested in ordering painted racing fairing from Motopricambi

Ducati - Motoxp Ricambi Ducati 1199 Panigale

Anyone using or used them?
What do you think?

Eventually other suggestions for race fairing for the Panigale?

I have them on my bike. I got the carbon tex version and had them do the paint.

I contacted Motoxpricambi directly and spoke to the USA rep, Patrick. He suggested I get Dave Moss' impression of their product. This is what Dave said:

"They are quality fairings. The question will be the cost from Euro to US plus shipping versus Sharkskinz or Catalyst Composites?"
(According to the website, shipping is ~$135)

He then asked:
"Is budget an issue?"

(I told him I wanted to do it right, not just save a buck.)

He responded:
"Personally, with a finished paint job that makes life a bit easier as long as the mounting holes were drilled correctly. Sharskinz is the best you can buy by far --a long long way-- and then you get your own custom paint job. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other........."

That being said, it'd be great if any MotoXpRicambi fairings/plastic owners could weigh in on this. (Thanks Veck for your input.)

Here's what I got

Carbon tex fairings with their custom paint job. They painted the inside and outside of the fairings, put the stickers on and clear coated over the stickers. I was happy with the paint job. Was expecting something very simple but they did a good job and included the stickers that go on the tank to complete the look.

The fairings are lightweight, flexible and had extra layers at the mounting points.

All of the holes were dimpled where you had to drill so it was simple to install. Hardest part was figuring out the air intakes. You have to use a part from the factory assembly. took a bit of fiddling to figure out how it went together.

Tail section also took me a few minutes to figure out. Once I test fitted the parts it made sense.

The guys in Italy were quick to respond to requests for help and had pictures and diagrams to help me see what I was missing on the air intake assembly.

Start to finish I think I had my bodywork in like 15 days or so. I was surprised when I got the call from the post office telling me that I had a large box.

Thread resurrection, but has anyone else bought these?

If so, can anyone provide a long term review on their quality?

Mine are great. Taking it off the track and have a set for sale if your interested in a used set. Never down, perfect condition.

I have 2 sets of the MotoXP race bodywork. I attached a picture of my 1299S Red Bull race set. The quality is good. I've raced using SharkSkinz, Attack, SebiMoto and Armour Bodies. I haven't wrecked, yet, on the MotoXP fairings, but they seem quality made. I am impressed with the paint job and the clear coat over the stickers. It was really nice dealing with Alessandro and he sent me mock-ups of the proposed race bodywork until I was happy with the scheme. He was very patient. I got the elite level paint job, full bodywork with a superbike tail, and a windscreen, for approximately $1100 U.S. dollars. The bodywork was nicely wrapped and protected in the large box I received.

PROS: Other than drilling, which wasn't hard, this was a great deal for everything. The paint is nice, the clear coat is nice and the stickers were really nice. The windscreen is thin and very clear.

CONS: The superbike tail has 3 major attachment points. You will receive a flat rectangular support plate to go under the tail but it isn't enough. The first attachment point is the junction between the seat where it abuts the tank. This will crack. I tried shimming it up and using rubber grommets, but it didn't help. (I move around a lot on the bike and really stress the seat area/tail.) I went to puke hole Home Depot and got a rubber mat and cut out squares to fill in the gap under the front of the seat. I just glued them in after I cut out and stacked several pieces. Attachment point 2 is under the back of the tail section. This uses 4 small bolts. I red lock tighted them. I blue lock tighted them. I cursed at them. I kept losing the bolts no matter what I tried. I've now drilled the 4 bolts in the back and safety wired them. We'll see how this works after this upcoming weekend at Roebling Road. Third attachment is on the seat pad. There are 2 bolts. No problems with this area.

Bottom line: The guys at MotoXP are really nice, helpful and easy to deal with. The bodywork comes painted and stickered how you request it. The paint job and bodywork is a great price. In Jacksonville, Florida, you couldn't find a painter ( not one sober, literally) to do this paint job, add stickers (if available) and clear coat it for less than $500 to $600 and that's if you get the buddy deal and take the guy a bottle of hooch. Then you add in the cost of the bodywork, drill it, mount it, take it off, go to the painter, call the painter several hundred times, finally get your stuff back and go remount it.

If you work with MotoXP, and they send you mock ups, you shouldn't be disappointed. I'm not. I even told them about the seat issues and they are working on a new design.

I wish I could end this message by stating "ciao, I'm off to Mugello!" Unfortunately, I'm going back to work.

Peace and good luck.

I've actually purchased a second set of bodywork from them for my R1. The original is still on my 1199 and working great. If I needed another set I'd totally get it from them, not having to deal with the hassle of painting it myself is worth waiting for it to ship.

How long did it take to arrive from order date?

Mine are great. I agree with Highside - the tail section is...difficult. If you value the appearance the paint is extremely good.

I just ordered a complete set of race fairings with a custom paint job! But will only get them in September, mainly due to their August vacation (everything shuts down in Italy in August). This was before reading about the positive feedback on this forum.

I also got their support bracket for the Bosch Inertial System, which I was told is critical to keep the system functioning properly on a 1299 (confirmed by my local Ducati tech). I am surprised no one mentioned this.

Question: if I want to use my bike for both track and street, are the race side fairings compatible with the stock OEM upper front fairing? and can the race tail fairing accomodate the rear lights?

Will post my feedback soon after I receive mine and mount them.

My fairings from my 899 are available for sale, see above post for photos. I know they will fit 1199 as well. Not too sure about a 959 or a 1299, but probably not.

These are sitting in my storage as I am no longer running the 899. Never been down, a few paint chips here and there - probably more from the fasteners than anything else.

Includes Nose with windshield, both sides, tail section, belly pan, and front fender (BP & FF have not been mounted/used).

I don't recommend to buy from them. I had an experience. If briefly say, their quality is poor.
