There isn't really much of a power difference between the S and R though... sure a little bit thanks to the extra revs but it's not like the 20ish HP the SL may be up on the rest of the 1199s.
If journalists insisted that the 1199 was a handful (check out any 899 review and you'll likely see that complaint) then the SL has to be very nearly unrideable for them.
Good point. It's also 30 or so pounds lighter so the power to weight ratio will be another level of madness. With the same general chassis dimensions and settings, and without the WSBK-class electronics (which are now the same systems as MotoGP according to Steve Martin this past weekend), it should prove more than a handful for Wes Siler and any other journalist that thought the R was a bit too "wild".
All of which means it would be perfect for me since I'm one of those "too much of a good thing is just right" types. Come on Powerball!!!
