Hey guys

I had some terrible bad luck... While riding my new 1299s in she cut out and engine warning came on... Not starting now... I had to load her on a trailer to get home and the damn Superbike straps damage just the Grey plastic "up" button from the auxiliary control.

My bike was collected today and should be at the closest dealership later this week. Ducati just informed me that I will have to replace the complete auxiliary control.

Any of you perhaps know where I can get the Grey "up" button only? I mean it shouldn't cost much more than 2usd instead of the 300 for the complete new controls.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I don't think that's the one his after
Ohh ohh, I guess you're right.
Anyway, what I always do first before buying OEM parts from an official Ducati Dealer is to check out whether there's someting available on other platforms.

It allows you to operate the quick shifter with your left thumb (up) and left index (down).

Here's a picture of the Aux Down Button (the up and down are back-to-back).

I thought the grey rocker switches are used to change settings of the DTC, DWC, EBC in racing mode, unfortunately you can change only one item at the time.
Do I miss something?

No you are correct!

It only works in the race mode and to tell you the truth it is a big pain in the ....
I see no reason why anyone would want to change the ABS- TC- or Engine braking on the fly (at least not on the track . Too much going on to be tryin gto change variables such as TC or Enging braking etc.. I never have time to think about changing a variable like that in the middle of a track session when I am hauling .... Maybe it is oK for others but I think it is more of a gimmick than anything else.

A while back I had a very bad experience with that damn paddle switch.. I had mine set to control the Engine Braking and was on the track last Labor Day at TWS and accidentally hit the button and turned the engine braking down from level one (the most engine braking setting ) to level 3 (basically very little braking/ freewheeling)
Not a good thing when you are expecting it to slow you down while rolling off the throttle and setting up for a knee down turn coming into a fast 180 degree turn at 60 mph..
Suddenly I found myself drifting out really wide..No problem right? I just added lean angle and thought I would be OK until... I had the misfortune to hit some coolant leaking out of an R1 in front of me and I highsided at 56 mph!!. I would have never normally gone out that wide on that turn.. But alas..I was tossed pretty hard in the air and came down flopping like a rag doll..Being that Iam 6'5'' it must have been quite the sight... I ended up breaking the Talus bone in my right foot.. NOT FUN..Surgery with a plate and 2 screws then 8 weeks of hobbling around in a boot on crutches and then physical therapy.. Not to mention the money to fix the plastic a handlebar foot peg and rear tail section.. My wife was also pissed because it happened four days before we were leaving for vacation! I went anyway.. lots of pain pills and laying around.
They can keep the damn paddle switch.. it is too easy to accidentally hit that button and change a setting

Here is the video.. I was just jacking around following a friend on a new R1. filming him with my new GyroVision camera mount..I wasn't even riding more than 70% level.. **If you slow down the video at the point of the crash you can see the front end correct when it hit the coolant and then the back hit the slick coolant and comes around and then catches on the dry tarmac and up in the air I go. Here is the video

After the crash, if you listen to the end you will hear the corner workers talking about the water/oil on the track.. (at around the 7 minute mark) My bike was not leaking any fluids it just slid thanks to the excellent T Rex sliders...
Another thing that bugged me is the fact that Ducati evidently does NOT have any tip over switch on the 1299 Panigale's.. I got lucky but if it had been laying on the other side (away from the oil pump side pickup) it would surely have burned up the motor since it ran for about 2 minutes before they cut the ignition.

Oh well.. I came out pretty lucky for an old fart tumbling as hard as I did..:D
It is ironic in the fact that I wasn't even trying to ride fast being that it was an early morning session and I was more concerned about my new Go Pro on the GyroVision mount.. I was jacking with the mount on it before I entered the straightaway after the first lap... It was coming loose.. LOL...

Oh well. .... happens and it can be painful sometimes but I love it..

Yep the paddle switch can be a nuisance . I have accidently hit mine while on the track and a fellow racer has disconnected his altogether for the same reason .
