Lost my bike for 28 days plus i have to pay $2000 after 28 days to get my bike back that includes the $1000 speeding fines.

Also I have just lost my license for 9 months so i am on foot riding bicycles instead or catching trains :(

They set the speeding camera right where you enter the freeway to trap suckers like me for speeding - revenue raising scums they are because they know this is where we would need to pick up speed to join the highways.

Now right there is one of the disadvantages of the first world. Here in the third world we still have a bit of freedom. [emoji4]
Good luck.

I'm so bummed right now :( i wasn't even riding like a hooligan :(

i was trying to save up money to buy my wife a Termi full system too :( but now i got to spend most of it on fines and getting my bike out of impound.

thank god there are no cameras here... man that sucks

It just sounded like a lot happened for speeding. Was a cop operating the camera? I don't understand how your bike gets impounded and license revoked from a traffic cam. That blows.

No really, how does a traffic cam impound your bike? Here you get a ticket in the mail with your picture. Meanwhile your bike remains in the garage all innocent like while you deal with the fines and possible loss of your license. How did they physically get their greedy little mitts on your property?

thats incredible. We get tickets sent to us here in the USA, but for that we can fight it and get it dropped (we have the right to face our accuser and well, you cant talk to a camera).

But for going maybe double to limit (or less) 9 months suspension and 2k in fees seems absurd to be honest. Maybe you can fight it and get it lowered or dropped.

killer spiders, sharks... and speeding cameras... I'm staying away from Australia!

In all seriousness, that blows. Good Luck

......mmmmm I owe the city of Cape Town about R160000.00 in unpaid fines not sure that the third world status we got relates to the high tech mil spec speeding detection .... they have?

Out of principle I will not pay and have my company attorney defend and tie up the judicial system with loads of paperwork simply because speeding in my opinion in SA is too easily policed and more serous crimes are overlooked like unroadworthy cars ,,,,unlicensed drivers, taxi drivers and so on.
Fuc em is what I say, my DD road car goes from 0 to 100 and stops in 8 seconds so you must know having these children born from street hookers now armed with military cameras to trap us upper middle class because we have an address does not work for me.

I will spend 10 times my fines defending it if need be.....JP Smith is a doos and his metro police methods can fuc off.
I'm reasonably well off and am tired of paying tax just to live! .....in the UK cameras are yellow in SA they conceal them???? Wtf how does this contribute to road safty ? And why don't these children born from parents with no contraception armed with cameras trap in wet or dangerous conditions???

that's why i prefer the GROM on public roads now.

67.5 mph pinned throttle downhill in full tuck.

that's it.

i've seen thumbs up from cops while i was riding it. (probably because i was in full gear doing 35 :D )

ouch man, that hurts. well, time to get that b1tch prepped for the track I'd say...

I'm sure there's a lot more to it than he's sharing and I doubt it's based just off of this one incident.

Either way, as unfortunate as it may be, you probably deserved it. If you feel the need to speed just to overtake, then slow down n get behind n merge when you can.....safely. I don't get why anyone would come on a forum to let people know they got a ticket and they were at fault. Dispute it or pay it. Doesn't matter. Handle it outside the forums since no one here can help you in the first place.
