thanks for the advice. i asked about getting a warranty issue. no luck as of now. im 215 lbs it held me up no problem. i used an impact wrench nothing. i can change the grips they use an air gun if they are rubber. if i want to use metal grips like rizoma i cant as of now. when i change the sprocket i will bring it up again

.... that, at this point I would destroy the clip-in if necessary just not to be defeated by a bar-end...

funny thing is i spent all this money to try to take them off for a different bar end makes no sense

I spent over $300 for special tools when I hit snags installing the headers. I look at it in still a saving over service fee AND now I have even more tools lol.

I'm telling you a torch from HD will get that .... off NP. You most likely have too much threadlocker.

Bump ratchet it. If you have to, get a torch if you don't plan to reuse the bar-end.

I was hoping to keep the stock bar end. That sucker is on though! I'm going to borrow a buddy's air compressor tomorrow. Hopefully I can get the grip off with that without having to remove the bar end...

SUCCESS!!! Holy crap did it take a lot of work. But I finally got the throttle side bar end off. But now I'm too lazy and tired to actually put the grips on haha

we really need a sticky in the 1199 general or even technical subforum to create an FAQ, we have it on ducati.ms for the streetfighter and hugely helpful.

There is a whole other thread on the tool and size. This forum really is like the movie groundhog day. Once the entire forum comes to a consensus, a newb shows up, and we start all over :D

Make me a mod and I will bring the rapture for careless newbs while eliminating triple thread posts and emphasizing the search function.

righty tighty; lefty loosey.....better check Mark!

I was never able to remove the bar-end, either. That didn't stop me from removing the grips and installing the Progrips over them, though.

another option is to remove the bar itslef from the brackets on the fork legs, if you really need.

i forgot to post this weeks ago. i finally got my bar ends off. they looked like they were super glued on. maybe a grey loctite if there is one i dont know. throttle side i broke the plastic pin that the throttle wire goes threw. its plastic and has 2 parts makes the thing between the throttle and where the off switch is on the bike not spin. well i went to ducati and they could order me a new piece. the tech said they brake all the time. was told to use a screw it will be better than plastic and it wont brake off anymore. i did. works better than new.
