Has anyone added bar risers for a 1199 base model with the 58mm fork tubes.Riding my new Superduke has made me want to raise the bars and inch or two.

Sell the 1199 and get a damn street fighter. Time and time again people bring this up. It's a race bike and not designed to handle with such mods. If you can't get comfortable then you need a different bike my man.

I personally disagree with that. I installed Gilles vario bars on my S model over 2 years ago. I had it at the track both before and after and found now no difference.

My lap times were faster after the mod as I was more comfortable on the bike.

I have noticed tyre change, suspension changes have improved my time. But the biggest improvement came after getting a bit of coaching from one of the young super bike racers that was coaching on one of the days. For me the vario bars have made it better for me.

I never really posted much about this as I did not want to hear the I bought the wrong bike stuff. I love my Panigale and have since May 2012. I have a spinal cord injury from military parachuting. No one really notices the changed bars. I have even posted pics on here showing other mods and no one has ever picked it up as the vario bars are at the same angle just higher.

Just my thoughts. I wish I could have the OEM but then I would be limited to 45 minute rides with a painful end. Just not practical for me.:D

I installed the Ducabike risers and enjoy them. Raises my hands about 1 1/2 - 2" and makes longer rides more bearable.

You just need to go faster, 100mph and up and the bars are no longer a problem. You might even be able to talk your way out of a ticket and jail with that one.

I'm glad it helped, but who's to say you wouldn't shred your lap times on different bike all together? Glad you were able to find a happy medium at the track but you are most likely an exception. Most people get them because they don't take fitness serious enough and just want to be seen on a Superbike even though they are completely uncomfortable riding it. And at my size I know what uncomfortable is!! I spoke to a professional who sets up race bikes for a living and I asked him about making the bike more comfortable for a taller rider. He said train harder, lose weight, create a strong core and stretch my muscles to add flexibility. He said if I've done all that and still need help he'd give me some tips. Lol

One of my issues is some limited neck movement so getting my head tilted back was a real problem. I agree though the fitter you are the easier it is in any sport. 35 years of military life have knocked me around a bit so I am not as flexible as I used to be. The Panigale is just too nice a bike not to ride even if you cannot ride it as fast or as long as some. Cheers.

Ergos play a huge role on a bike no matter how fit you are.

Sometimes the slightest change makes all the difference.

The 848 was a torture rack for me. The 1199 I can ride hundreds of miles just with the minor changes made.

I may ride the 1199 cross country and for slabbing it, it may make all; the difference for me. Would put it back stick for twisty's

I swapped on some ducabike motogp inspired offset clamps, they are not exactly a riser, but made a small difference in the bar angle. not worth the $$$

Personally I do not care about what some say about adding more comfy clip-ons, it is about user feel. 1/2 an inch can be a he difference in feel and comfort for some..

The Panigale is much like my 675R, not much room to play with when it comes to clip-ons.. Wish helibar made some of their tracstar bars for the bike..
