Battery Tender

The manual says to charge at 0.9a, and tender should be no more than 1.5a.

I purchased the Battery Tender Junior which is 0.75a is that fine or should I get the 1.25a Battery tender plus?

Honestly the regular battery tender junior High efficiency works fine. No need to get anything else. I plug mine in after I ride. Since I have the DDA+ GPS module, I have the tender, why not use it. .75a is to maintain the battery, slower is better, with more charging power, its great if you have a dead battery and you're trying to get the bike started, but with higher amps, you have the risk of damaging the battery or reduce the battery life.

How many amps does the alternator charge at?

10amps+ ain't going to hurt jack. But I agree, the little tenders should be fine as long as they float at the correct voltage, not trickle. I haven't tested chargers that small to see exactly what they do.

10 amps might do some damaged. Alternator puts out 350 to 450 watts @ 35 - 38 amps not 100% sure statistics but you have the rectifier to convert it back to DC to charge and keep your electrical components stable.

I haven't seen the specs for the 1199...But given some previous history I would imagine the alternator puts out around 13.5V at 35 amps (475 watts approx)
