are you referring to the small CF piece on the engine cover (pic 1) that ducati will give to me?

It's not CF it's plastic that is on the engine heads. It covers the Magnesium head where there is massive heat coming out but some people do not like it because some have oil leak issues or they like to see the magnesium color. This warranty is for the 12 model the 13 came with the cover installed.

interesting, i have a 13 model and that little plastic piece isnt on my engine heads. would the subframe covers significantly help heat rash on my inner thigh?

Yea I'll probably go with just the sub frame covers. How was installation? Just glue and stick on? Where did you use extra heat tape?

Lined the CF covers with heat reflective tape (Autozone), RTV adhesive, stick on, used zip tie to hold it in place over night to ensure solid fit. Done

Wish there was a UK supplier, I would buy them tomorrow. Can't justify the price + Import Tax + Shipping. I'll stick to my homemade ones for now :-(

did the adhesive come with in the package with the covers or does that need to be purchased separately? kindof hesitant to be putting glue on the frame

Comes with the part. It's RTV adhesive which is not like glue it came be removed completely with no problem.

ok great. really debating purchasing this. im 6 foot and the heat rash/blister appears maybe 5-6 inches from the inside of my knee. the piece directly below the subframe on the right side is EXTREMELY hot as well; even after the dealer verified i have the upgraded heatshields.

can anyone comment on the size of the two screws pictured here? i was reading on another members thread that these two metal screws are in fact the cause for a significant amount of heat on the thigh area.

Thats BS.... I ride my bike in 100+ weather and its runs pretty hot of course but I do not find any localisation of heat such as that

i pulled it from this thread http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/12831-why-does-my-leg-feel-like-s-fire.html on page 2 i believe.

there definitely is a lot of heat coming from that area. whether replacing the screws will help, i don't know. but if it'll fix the problem for a few dollars as opposed to the $350 shift tech CF sub frame covers, i would try it. hopefully others will chime in

Received the parts today. How do I install the left cf piece?? The yellow spring/suspension on the bike is in the way of it fitting correctly
