I've got my deposit on an 1199 base ABS, agreed-to price is $17,999 ($1000 off 2012 MSRP) plus roughly $1500 in all those "shipping" and "setup" fees.

How good/not good of a deal is this? What kind of prices are you all getting?

I paid $18995 plus ttl... no extras and that was back in August ... so I dont think thats a great deal IMHO

best price

Sounds pretty good to me. Considering demand is high, I dont think they need to give out too many deals. Go For It....Amazing bike to ride!!

Well, when you put it that way . . . I can't lose, can I?

Mate, I took a similar deal from the same dealer, get it done.....you will not be disappointed, you can spend ages looking and waiting for a better deal when you could be riding those awesome canyons, as soon as you ride it you won't care about a few $ here or there...

Actually, I can sell it better than that, but then you would have to ship it to CA.

Deal

I see you are on complete other side of country, otherwise I could hook you into a deal. The last guy who only wanted a base was able to land the S for same cost. There is always shipping it but that's at least $600 or higher coast to coast.
Sorry, don't have many contacts left in CA.

Got mine for 19,000 OTD. I was fine with that price, saved 2000 compared to my co worker

just curious bro, any "good deals" or hook-ups up in MA/NH?

$17999 + $1500 Setup and Delivery, $60 doc fee, $1700 tax, $215 license, you're looking at $21.5k OTD. I paid around that OTD back in July, includes a 7yr warranty. You can do better than that in so-cal. Base+ABS

I agree you can do better by prob about a grand, give or take a few hundred. It's just a matter of how much it's worth it to you to hold out vs ride. You're in Socal so there's still plenty of riding left.

Shouldn't "set up and delivery" more accurately be called "added dealer profit"?

Our local dealer did not charge me for freight, delivery or PDI.

yeah bro, its the end of the year, see if they drop setup fees and that other make-up crap!! GOOD deal! $18k out the door with abs cant go wrong there!

Thanks, all, for your input. I finally got the call today that my bike is on its way, and I should have it within the next couple of weeks. It's about time, as I put my deposit down in AUGUST!

I will let you know how things turn out. I like the shop, so it's looking like a win/win situation in the making. A little goodwill gesture from the dealer would definitely be appreciated, however . . . A.K., you're reading this, right? ;)
