I have installed Sena 50R in my HJC RPHA 11 carbon. I can’t hear a damn thing after 40mph and wind noise is crazy. I am sure the position of our leaning head on this bike might need a different type of helmet to control the wind noise? Any suggestions for quietest helmet with Sena 50 and AirPods Pro for noise cancelling? So I can have Sena comm, music through AirPods Pro along with extra noise control & Escort redline 360c radar detector alerts through the Sena or AirPods Pro.

Since it has finally cooled off here in north Texas, I have closed my vents occasionally and that also helps.

Yah, I am North Texas. On my Rhpa 11 carbon it didn’t make a difference for me somehow. I also suspect may be some gasket is lose. Have to take in to motorcyclegear.com (where I bought it recently) to check it up.

Webbikeworld.com has pretty decent helmet reviews to include noise levels.

I think it's the aerodynamics of the bike. I wear foam ear plugs and I still get more wind noise than i want... switched from Arai to AGV b/c latter seems to deal w air flow better... also doesnt look like a bowling ball

Shoei and Schuberth make quiet helmets, race helmets tend to be noisier. I wear foamies with my Sena 20, above 60 mph forget it for conversations but I get the radar alerts at any speed. A tubular neck scarf makes a difference

What about shoei rf 1400? I see some sites list it as most quiet.
I have a RF1400 and with the visor up its pretty loud as the latch seems to make a lot of wind noise. Visor down, I think its about the same as the GT-Air.

I also have an RF1400. Real quiet with the mesh chin guard in place and much noisier without it. Quietest helmet I ever had was the old style Shoei Qwest with a Nolan neck sock (slides into gap at bottom of helmet). Shoei no longer makes that helmet and Nolan no longer makes the neck sock otherwise I have a new one of both.

Yah, above 50mph, I can’t hear a thing on Sena 50R mesh conversation. How are people managing it? I am surprised that in 2023 it’s still not sorted.

Looks like lot of people vouch for rf1400, but there are some on Reddit who also say it has loud wind noise. Wish we could try these on bike and decide which to buy.

Replace it with Cardo.

The ones with JBL speakers will deafen you before your bike does.

I can flat out the canyons on my street fighter with them on and not hear a damn thing other than what I’m playing through them 😂

I thought they are same league. All my friends have Sena too, but they all ride adventure bikes so they barely get any wind with their massive wind shields.

Wearing a jacket and the bike you ride can also have an effect on perceived noise.

I haven't tried Sena but comparison reviews suggest the Cardo speaker quality wins unanimously, especially the 45mm variants.

Since your friends use Sena then you might want to stick to that as I'm not sure about compatibility.

I can confirm the review of the Sena speakers. I run Pandora on my phone and bluetooth it to the Sena. I can hear it at speeds above 50-60, but it falls short of what it should be.
