Hello all, I got some damage to the windscreen and my tft screen. I was able to get Ducati to goodwill the windscreen but they want nothing to do with the tft screen. Anybody have any luck trying to polish out the display screen? Or any advice on how to polish it and or products to use. I'm ok with them saying they wont replace it, just sucks. Thanks in advance!

Plastic headlight polish will work if there is no hard coat on the screen.
Some plastics have a scratch resistant coating that cannot be polished. Like Oakley sunglasses.
Ask me how I know !

I would source a damaged screen use that when attempting polishing.

Happened to my 899 and 959 after track days, splashed the screens and dash. It happened while transporting them back from the track. Damage just appeared like magic after unloading them.

I have since tightened the reservoirs, that's where it must have come from but no sign of leaks or splashes elsewhere. Windscreens were annoying but dashes pissed me off big time.

This happened a couple of months ago so I'm over it now.

I have the some marks on my cluster screen too and im pretty sure it was the brake fluid. I tightened mine down for sure and every now and then ill notice fresh splatters.

That's CRAZY! I would lay holy hell on Ducati to produce a brake reservoir that can't stay tight and leaks. If that's an issue everyone needs a brake reservoir sock to catch small leaks.

Yes it is Ducati's fault that the brake reservoir cap was loose. Bad Ducati.

Lol, if they make a reservoir that can't stay tight, hell yea it's their fault. It's brake fluid! for the front brake! If this is really an issue nthat could trigger a recall.

The friend of mine had similar issueso he gave the windsreen to the guy who properly polished it and the brake fluid disappearred and the windscreen looks like the new one.

Got the "hydraulic fluid on the TFT screen" experience - seriously ugly splatter marks.

Spent a few days being super bummed that I'd marred my beloved 1299S, then found references online to use of toothpaste and lots of elbow grease to (gently) remove markings from such screens.

I gave it a try - and YAY it seems to have worked perfectly! Three cheers for toothpaste!

BTW markings got there because I'd changed my brake reservoir for a Rizoma with a twist-on cap - needed a different shape than stock so I could rotate my levers forward, I'm 6'4". Stock wouldn't rotate forward much. Be CAREFUL to keep hydraulic fluid lids tight, if they shake a bit loose then hydraulic fluid splatters everywhere.

I experienced the same thing on the TFT screen. A little fine polishing compound, a moistened terry cloth rag and two-finger polisher :) - elbow grease - brought it back better than before. Be patient and work slowly.
