Bug removers... any suggestions

+1 on the hot towel, available everywhere. Then put the wax - whatever. Makes the bugs come off easier the next time.
A crazy thing I discovered obsessively cleaning my bike was there are petroleum based one-step clean+wax that go into places where fairing and windscreen bolt together and slowly dissolve the windscreen plastic. My windscreen just came off one day.
I switched to water only to clean, then carefully apply waxes not letting too much get onto bare plastic.
WD-40 cleans chain lube sling off aluminum parts in a blink - but be really careful not to get it on the chain. WD-40 is a solvent, NOT a lube. It'll take the chain lube apart in the chain eventually. I spray it on a rag and wipe off swing arm and wheels.

Seen some videos and it looks easy... then a friend said it’s tricky (he was talking about a car) so he got me worried... looks like wipe on and wipe off... just need to ensure bike is fully cleaned and prepped beforehand.
Do you do much aftercare once applied... or leave for 1 or 2 years and then re apply?Excuse all the questions....

No after care needed honestly. I had it on an old bike for 4+ years and didn't need to reapply, but then the bike is garaged and was not out in the elements often which can make a difference on how often the coating may need to be applied.

Snap, mine lives in a secure garage... will give it a go

Will try this one out ... and let you all know

Did u ceramic coat the screen or only bodywork/fairings? Thanks

Used it on my Daytona, great results but you must paint correct first!
When you say Paint Correct... a wash, clay bar if needed, clean with iso 70% alcohol should be enough... or do you do something I’m addition of instead of...

Gotta polish the paint nicely, then rub with IPA then apply coating

you should also get a super slick spray on / wipe off coating to use every time you clean the bike after it’s been coated with the semi permanent stuff

Youll have a lot less bug splatter but the debris that does stick will quickly wipe off with the warm towel method

That video, its right up there with best unboxers drooling over packaging haha! Sorry but I cant take it seriously anymore, its like Ducati got overrun with bearded hipsters who cant ride but sure can polish. Keeping it simple getting rid of bugs is nothing more than washing it with whatever you can find. One of the best is just water from the gas station windscreen cleaner bucket and the paper towels they have for dipsticks, for the full high end detailing get a bit of soap from the dispenser in the toilets . Lately everywhere you go has free visor and helmet cleaner in the form of hand sanitisers, I call it the covid clean.

Hahaha... very very very true... just looking at easiest summer clean as these French bugs seem to hang on to Ducati’s like they have been fitted with stromz grips.

the other thing is do it each evening like you suggest or even every refill if you can be bothered. It's much easier when the bug juice is fresh!

Yeah... my OCD won’t let me get to the bar before the Pani is clean.

Yes coat the screen, all glossy things can be coated with that, there’s a matte coating for plastics and other stuff. Check out HKMP7s journal b4 he jumped ship

meanwhile my ducs are sitting here filthy as can be. I don’t care. Just ride ride ride

If you’re taking the time to polish the paint to perfection it is very much so worth applying PPF paint protection film on the paint, and then super slicking the film
My bikes have some pretty nasty stone chips. The fairings are very expensive disposable pieces if you don’t protect the paint. Why bother doing any of this if you’re going to leave the pint open to terrible stone chips. Protect the headlights too

My next set of fairings is going to be matte CF, it should be like armor and if I ever feel like cleaning it, I can just wipe it off.
Youll understand what I mean after a couple hundred miles when you notice big chunks taken out of the nose of your bike

Thank you both... super helpful. Gives me something to do here in the winter with the bike in the garage.

30,000ks of bugs and stones, the chips in the cf cannot be undone but meh, it still looks ok considering the completely unprotected paintwork.
