Good Afternoon!

Mrs. 1199 here and I need some help. My husband Mr. 1199 graciously gave me our 2013 1199 Panigale as my next track weapon. I am coming from a 2013 RSV4 and run a decent 2 minute lap around Button Willow. I have done some laps on this bike, but never put in the time to get confident with the it.

What modifications and suggestions do you have to improve this machine? We typically run the local SoCal tracks, and we want to make the bike as versatile as possible. Thank you for your help, I look forward to your suggestions!

Modifications
Stock Gearing and Chain
OEM Plastics
Woodcraft Rearsets
EBC brake Pads
Spirit Air Filter
GB Engine Covers

Get the suspension set up for you, and hopefully you can find that spot where it is not such hard work to go fast on.
Generally speaking, the bike does not lack any power and i think you would be beter suited with some good pads, and whatever you need to make it feel comfortable seating wise also.

Have a look at an old post I did: http://ducatiforum.com/ducati-1199/24078-conversion-converted.html
All the pics have been removed; however, it may give you some ideas.
I've made a bunch of other mods since then and am happy to answer questions.
I would definitely add the automatic kill switch that kills the engine if the bike goes down. Ducati used to sell one as a racing part and it will save your engine. The bike is starved of oil within a second of it being on its side, and will contribute to an early engine failure (and replacement) if that happens.

I will be parting with lots of track parts over the winter, srarting in January. from fairings, over wheels to exhausts.

Let me know if you need anything

Please send me a list of parts that you are looking to sell. I would be happy to review and work towards giving them a new home.

I am a fan of Vesrah RJL pads, but is there another brand I should look into? I wouldn't mind a little more brake feel at the lever since replacing the MC seems to be an silly endeavor that resulted in a lot of folks returning to the OEM one.

One question that I have is about gearing. To me the 1199 has always had a lot of charm with the stock 15/39 gearing, but I see some folks have gone to a 41 tooth rear sprocket.

Is this a good option to smooth out the powerband, or will it make the bike more torque-ie and wheelie out of corners easier?

Gearing really depends on the track. :)

If you have the money and interest to change sprockets all the time sure. Personally I don't like wrenching on a bike at a racetrack, I want to focus on my riding as much as possible. Heck I get irritated just swapping tires.
