Man I love when guys speak their minds. Cal won a moto GP race. That's like being Ben Her for a day....lol. Cut him some slack.
Other riders have called people cheats in public and that's okay so I'm fine with the wimps comments.
Really public persona is a tough thing to judge a guy by. I actually have a friend that works for trump and said great things about the guy when chatting with him. I'm sure all the riders are great guys when not under the immense pressure of being a world class rider with commitments to sponsors tv and everything else.
A good friend was coming back from Spain on Qatar airways and ran into JLo walking thru the business class. He was sitting alone. My buddy walked up to him and asked for a selfie remarking that everyone would love it. JLo was shocked and asked if people in his country liked him? My buddy said everyone likes you, your the world champion. He said after that comment they sat and chatted like track buddies.
I'm sure most of them are probably like that. Unless you bum rush them when they're with family or some inappropriate time.
Let's also not be like desperate housewives, hanging on every detail like a soap opera.
