Cal gets spicey...

I think he has the option to get out of his contract with Ducati at the end of the season. Not sure if he'll be able to get back on a M1 though. He has been complaining ever since he arrived at Ducati, but he has already had a few weird mechanical problems. I'm sure he's very frustrated.

Was waiting for a Crutchlow thread to show up...

To be honest I like how pissed he is. I would imagine I would be too. He wears his heart on his sleeve and wants to be competitive...Cant say I didnt see it coming because of the other riders history with the bike. Pretty bold to be saying he might not be racing in two weeks on this machine....And I know he wasnt referring to his hand hurting...

Like him or hate him, he dosent give you a bunch of ........ like JLO and Danny about how hes feeling, and status with the bike and team. You get honesty...which is why I really like him as a racer, as well as respecting him...I feel like he and Simoncelli would have got along great!!!

And the championship needs stoner back in a bad way...

Well if Stoner is watching MM win and still doesn't feel motivated to comeback then he shouldn't. If he wants to challenge himself against the best, he should be almost begging to get back on a GP bike and have a go at MM. If he doesn't feel anything, then his competitive spirit is gone and he's no longer a racer.

Well... at least he's a factory rider now... That was all that was important for him when he opted out from the Yamaha deal with Tech3... Dumbest move ever!!!

But I really like Cal, and his ability to speak frankly and honest when other riders are so terrified of upsetting a sponsor or manufacturer that all their comments and interviews turn in to a politically correct sludge... Colin has the same ability, so I'm sad that he's quitting for that reason.

lol

it's all about the correct mindset.

and cal is not a realistic optimist. a racer is good if he masters all aspects of racing life, exercising hard, riding fast, the engineering component and the PR.

not all can do, and those who can are in the front. (paycheck and podium wise)

or they retire and go fishing or whine around (as in speak what you think).
if you can't motivate you by being 5th and see the potential, you can just stay at home.

In my opinion he's just being a whiny little ...... He knew where Ducati was when he signed the contract and now he's upset? Perhaps he should adapt his style to the bike he is riding like Dovi, Nicky and Crazy Joe have done. When he is beating Dovi consistently I will start listening, until then he can go pout at the kids table.

I kinda tend to agree. After seeing all the riders that have tried and failed to ride that bike did he really expect any different outcome? It's not like it was a bunch of C list guys on the Desmo before him. If he thought they all just sucked and he can surely do better then his ego got the best of him, IMO. I think we all knew it would turn him into a midpacker so I figured he did too. I'm kinda shocked he's surprised. :)

I think you forget that MotoGP is the Best of the Best. You get there by winning championships or otherwise showing that you have the potential to do so and kick .... I'm sure they're all Type A personalities, and along with that comes some humongous egos, and for a little guy, Cal's is as big as they come. Can't really blame him though, he kicked ... in WSS and did very well on the Tech 3 team last year in a few rides. Easy for us armchair QB's to criticize him when he's proven himself in the Big Show.

He hurts himself a lot when he crashes, I'm sure he took the factory job for the money so he can follow Ben Spies' lead if a career-ending injury were to happen. That and when the 2013 silly season music stopped he realized that was the best option for him: $300,000/season riding for Tech 3 or $2-3 Million a year for a 2-year contract at Ducati? Hmmm

in the game for the money and the fame :D

Which is fine but then don't whine about the bike and the team. Take your big pay check and do the best job you can to make yourself and Ducati look good.

I don't like this guy! at all!
I understand the bike issues but you need to be professional and respect all the money you are making racing for the team.

I hope ducati kick this fat ... out of the team!

Cal knew exactly what the score was when he signed the contract, his job is to shut up, ride the bike, and be the first Ducati across the line. He is getting paid big bucks to run the bike, not his mouth.

Agreed...I am disappointed he's becoming a whiny ........already.... I really thought this guy would bring it...

He's only hurting himself. If he thinks that he's impressing other teams by being a bit too negative, when he can't even beat his own teammate, well then he's as dumb as he looks while eating this banana.

Thaaaat said, I can appreciate his frustration over what transpired. Still, he needs to show a bit more tact, IMO. He's clearly not up to pace yet with the bike's capabilities, so until he gets there maybe it's best to just shut-up and ride. He asked for this, after all.
