Anyone get asked this? (I ride a 2012 Ducati 1199S Tricolore)

I get it almost all the time. I don't let anyone sit on it, but take all the pics you want. :)

My favorite was when I stopped at a coffee shop. I tried to pass it, but my engine died and the steering locked in position and guided me into a place in a row of Harleys. The display switched to a Starbucks logo so I figured there is something in the latest upmap that doesn't let you pass a coffee shop without stopping (it is a Ducati after all). Anyway, one of the girls working there came in from outside and asked me if that was my Ducati. I said yes and she said she took some pictures of it and sent them to her friends and how gorgeous the bike was. I bet the Harley guys that were in earshot were pissed. :)

had a guy walk into a lamp post while i was waiting for my friend . he past the bike looked back kept walking while looking and BOOM head into the lamp post. i laughed in his face lol

difference between a harley and a vacuum?

position of the dirt bag hahahaha

I'm pretty sure a Dyson has more horsepower too.

With only like 3 on the island I get it all the time. Had 4 people ask me just yesterday. Does not bother me though.

Before I sell my 1198 and get the 1199, had full termi on it so the noise plus the dry clutch etc... Where very load and weird for most people, in a gas station a guy was letting me know that I should shut down the motor immediately cause my motor was blown and he is a Mecanic, so I told him not to worry cause my bike is Diesel and he said that was very load Diesel bike and that he have seen diesel bikes before and they where not that load. Jijiji I just couldn't believe what I was hearing and looking at.

I was manning a display of a new Hypermotard, a Diaval, and my Panigale at the Italian embassy in DC for an open house. We were just outside the front door where the line waited for security to let them in.Every man, woman, and child between the ages of 4- 80 who could swing a leg over had to sit on one, or all for a picture. They all had the hugest grin humanly possible. There were several hundred that came through that day and it was the most fun I've ever had not riding my bike.

I've been riding for many, many years. Took a few years off, but started in 1971. Yesterday was one of those poster picture moments for me that I have never had. What made it more awesome is that I'm one of those riders who waves at ALL riders, and some of the baddest looking Harley riders DO wave back.

I was on the Ducati coming down a main road in SE Houston (NASA Rd 1 for those who know it). It was about 10:00 Sunday morning. As I came up to a light I noticed about five Harleys behind me. They were all tattoo'd, sleeveless leather vests, beards, ape hangers....they looked the bad-... type whether they were or not. I stopped at the red light on the left side of my lane at a light and the first one in line rode up right next to me - about three feet to my right. He looked over at me and started talking. I had a full face helmet and ear plugs in so I could not hear every word, but I could make out that he was complementing my Ducati. His was one of the bike with the Ape hangers. It would have made an awesome poster looking at the two of each other talking to each to other like that.

BTW, my radar detector was going off. I have Mark Parnes LED warning lights and the radar detector sits atop the triple clamp so it's easy to see. I was pointing to it and telling him it's going off. We passed a cop a few hundred yards after the light turned green. I think the Ducati and I made some new friends.

I actually let a kid working at a gas station get on mine and take a pic. NEVER AGAIN!!! The way he got on and off omg. He didn't break anything but he kicked the rear turn signal getting on and when he was on I thought he was going to drop the bike and when he got off his shoe rubbed on the rear racing cowl. Never again NEVER AGAIN!!!

+1 - had the same thing happen to a different bike. Let some dude get on and pose for a picture and he scratched the rear cowl getting on and off. This must happen at dealerships all the time. I guess they just buff them out or something?

People always checking out my R and asking for photos.:D

Only issue is it's always blokes that want a pic never a pretty lady, Wtf Ducati you have created a dude magnet

Try hiking a leg over the tailbag sometime - quite a stunt in flexibility :)

Take a look at the pics of the actual bikes in the link below. This is a dealer I bought my Ninja 1000 from - about ten minutes from my house. He covers every new bike in stock with plastic....
